I got the head back today, lapped the valves, installed new seals and put the springs back in. I hope to have it all bolted up tomorrow. Finally getting to install some parts!

Made some more progress today. I ported out the turbo manifold to match the T4 inlet on the turbo.

I got the lifters and cams in, copper coated the head gasket/spacer and installed the head. Upon tightening the head studs the third and final time i noticed a little bit of oil seeped out around the corner closest to the exhaust manifold, crank pulley side.
I think some of the oil/assembly lube may have dripped out of the head durning installation. I am not really sure where it came from to be honest I am just guessing. I assume this is no good for sealing purposes. Will this be ok? Should I get a new head gasket and start over since its allready been tourqed? I am not really sure on this one any help is appreaciated.

But to ease the frustration with the oil issue I clocked the turbo and did a mock up.
The corner of the gasket sticking out in the pic is where the oil was seeping. Also if you notice the head stud right above it. I couldnt get it to go in any further. Is that normal? It seemed to bottom out and I didnt want to over tighten it and risk damaging the block. There was plenty of thread to bolt to so I rolled with it.

I lost count how many times I have heard that scirocco comment. Its usually the older burn out guys that say that.

First comment was "Is that a Scirocco.." The second was "Is it a Porsche?"

Did Work. Yes I need to empty the trash can.
Fresh chains and guides. Resurfaced flywheel. Installed the spec stage 3 clutch. I just have to get the bung in the pan welded and then it will be time to drop this motor in.

I met with the fabricator last week to talk about everything that I need done. This guy does alot of work for friends and I understand he has a good reputation in the supra world. Its a small one man operation but this guy does some crazy good work. So I dropped him my beat up oil pan for turbo drain and some reinforcement. All chromoly reinforcements and I am pretty impressed with his work. This pan will be able to stand up to abuse.

Yes. New starter and por15 on the shifter cable bracket. I am also hunting for something close to oem for the heatshield on the cables. That stuff is in pretty bad shape and needs replaced.

Yeah he has helped out a lot. One ride in his VRT inspired me to do this project. Hit me up sometime if you want to swing by and check it out. It's a shame you got rid of your C. It won't be long now till this is running.
just wiring, fuel and fab work.

I pulled the seats out and prepared for wire tuck. While I was in there I finished removing the abs harness. Once it came out, the wiring that is left is alot easier to manage. I got started on cleaning up the wire harnesses. It seemed a little intimidating at first but once I laid it out and saw what goes where it will be pretty easy.
