He finally stopped by 10 minutes ago. I know I always get shipments around 6pm, but never gotten one this late.

Yeah I'm on low everything and what not and still running incredibly slow. I'm gonna order a new video card see that helps. News to do that anyways. Also, may need to upgrade my CPU. Ugh, the things I do to play a game.

At first I was hesitant to buy this game. I thought man this just looks like Diablo II part II, nothing new.

But the nostalgia of the game makes it so awesome. I love the new graphics and I hate/ love the old school feel to it. I kind of wish we had camera angles, but eh whatever I can live with it.

Same here wtf. At least I reached a checkpoint right before the disconnect. Still sucks though, this is why I hate games that require a constant internet connection. Fsck Battle.net

servers are crashing one by one apparently. My buddy is in the same room as me and he's still playing and I got kicked off right as we killed diablo and i looted thankfully. it's annoying to say the least... I don't understand why they have such a restricted beta and then they get hit by all of these massive errors and they are surprised...

was going to take a "sick" day on Wednesday but if the servers still arent stable it may not be worth it. maybe i'll see how theyre doing thursday night and if i'm confident they wont be dropping as much on Friday i'll give myself a 3 day weekend

i got about 4 hours in tonight and it's been amazing. i keep reminding myself that i'm still a low level and have noob gear. the game is only going to get more interesting as we progress to 60 and start picking up/crafting some pretty incredible sh!t . also to mention, the storyline thus far =

And to get to level 33 I played from 3:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.
Slept till 3:30 p.m.
Played from 4:00 p.m. till Whenever the servers went down around 11 p.m. or so.

So I'll guess around 14 hours. Give or take.

Probably about to start a barbarian when we get back online.

This isn't a single player game...

It's been known for over a year that it would be online all the time.

Why? Because it's the only way to curb the hackers, botters, dupers, etc. If you have to ask then you have no clue how bad it got in Diablo 2...

As for the "fail launch", again it's an online game. It takes time to dial-in the hardware and bandwidth to accommodate the insane number I people trying to play. Connections are going to be bad for a few days and then it will be smooth sailing.

Why do you think they put off the launch of the real money auction house? If Blizzard was as inexperienced as some of you are claiming they would have had it available at launch and it would have been a huge cluster-f with real money being affected by disconnects and such.

It would be stupid for Blizzard to blow money on servers and excess infrastructure without truly knowing how how many people are going to play continuously.

Tl;dr - give it a few days, the servers will be fine.

I'm still trying to figure out the artisan system. I've made 7 or 8 pairs of boots so far, but I got an achievement

26 barb (duel wielding daggers) just started act 3 and let me say, I am loving this game. Crafting system is a little weak since you have to pay gold only to level it and making stuff has random attributes but overall, it's awesome.

Make sure your stills work together. Once you start with a good rotation, stuff just falls down. Last time I died was on the end of act 1 and that was before I figured out what I was really doing.

So the servers went down again last night? I ran into a problem where I couldn't chat anymore, but I could still see everything happening around me. Logged out, and couldn't get back in.

Also somewhere between all of the server restarts, I lost all of my Act 1 Achievements, and explored areas.

wondering if i should buy a guide of some sort. never played any of the previous diablo's. jumped on for about 3 hrs last night, managed to get to level 9 and the end of act 2 i think?

my system was built for far greater, so the graphics are all on high and epic. im loving them and the gameplay.

just have no idea about the crafting, etc. im also saving all my gold and refusing to buy anything until i understand what is what.

AH looks cool, didnt see the real money one though?

i may fire it up at work here, it helps my employer was friendly enough to buy me a high end laptop capable of running it and he thinks im viewing blueprints only

a paperback guide wouldnt hurt, but 1 of the main ones that got released got pretty iffy reviews. if i were you i'd use the diablo 3 website as a guide, they have everything explained (what items are available, how to craft, different skills, characters, etc etc etc). they do a really good job of building a very in-depth database of information. (and if you want a physical copy, just use the laser printer at work and print off every page and 3-hole punch it into a binder )

Just to answer some crafting questions.



Essentially...

Salvage Blue+ items to get crafting materials.

Use crating materials to craft items. (Some stats are random, Ex. you might get a +Intellect item as a Barbarian)

Upgrade the Blacksmith/Jeweler by purchasing the upgrade (Last Tab).

until gold prices get established in the auction house, there's really not much reason to hold onto gold right now. i believe you're better off upgrading your blacksmith and that way it's much cheaper to attempt to upgrade your items. instead of dropping thousands at merchants, you can use materials and a smaller amount of gold to make your own stuff. just my .02

is anyone home playing all day today? if the servers drop would you mind posting it? i'm trying to get a feel for how stable they are today vs. yesterday and it's kinda tough to try and follow blizzards twitter for server announcements cus it moves so quick (and also i can't view the server status website here at work)
