Thread: Any experience with this Berg Cup kit?

  1. 08-25-2011 12:36 PM #1
I'm wondering if anyone has any info or experience with this wide body kit I found on the good ol' ebay... It's bucks less than Showcar's kit. But I'm wondering if anyone has seen or purchased one of them. I'm about to pull the trigger, I'm just wanting to make sure it's not garbage...

    What are your thoughts?

If the kit is fiberglass, virtually no fiberglass body parts fit perfectly as some adjustment will be needed for mounting.

Also fiberglass may change its shape slightly with temperature. Be sure to mount the parts with the car and parts out of the sun.

    Cheers, WWR.

    that's a great price!
the product look decent, going just from the photo
it scares me that there's no supporting information, and that it's shipping from the czech republic but the ad is in german, on the american ebay

98.4% positive feedback on 933 transactions = 14-15 people felt the need to give something other than positive feedback + uncertainties already mentioned = Sketchy McSketch-a-lot.

Agreed on good price but caveat emptor fahsho.

Whoa there! had to go and throw down the Latin on us now? ha ha!

I'm assuming it's fiberglass... I read a few reviews of people that have bought that same wide body kit in the past and they said it was a good purchase... So who knows. I think I might just give it a go. If it turns out to be junk or not as advertised, I'll be boned, but I we'll see I guess.

I talked to the guy at showcars. Nice guy. The 4" flare kit was going to be 580 plus 180 in shipping... Not a bad price for what you get, but I'm just a broke ass hoe

What size wheel and tire setup do you have on there? The new paint looks sick. Right now my rabbit is primer gray, think I might just keep it that way. Keep it ratty looking.

How did $760 shipped become $480? That's some good 'gotiating there.

I interpreted this that it was $760 from show cars, but he bit the bullet and went for the kit off German eBay for $480.

I just want to see how this fits up and if it's close enough for my race car so I can go to real rubber like 9".

not to get too off topic here...

"rat look" and keep it in primer... I kept mine in primer due to needing to keep the money under the hood and in the tank.. I also loved the look.

Long story short, the primer gets contaminated eventually, you have to take it all off, just to reprime and paint it.

People will say "noooooo" But I'd advocate sanding that primer nice and smooth and paint it, even if its just rattle can paint... A satin finish would look good, retain that "rat look."

(I shudder when I use that term, rat is not a look, its a mentality that has to do with function first.)

Anyway, like I always say, it's your car, do as you wish. Just wanted to offer my experience.

I also bought from this guy. The guy had great communication and the parts showed up in a timely manner. The packaging was a really sketchy, but it all came in one piece and wasn't broken.

    I would buy again.
