Still need to repaint the orange crap in my bay. Had a huge oil leak, turned out to be a loose valve cover
Swapped euro caliper/knuckles, rotors, ball joints, bearings, brake lines, carriers and pads for larger US spec stuff. Holy crap my bearings must have been shot, It's so much more quiet, and if it makes since the rotation feels slicker. Also re-tightened the serpentine belt, no more rattling and still need to bleed the brakes some more

Dropping it this weekend, put the bbs' back on for kicks, and playing with pinstripping
P.S. That was a good shot on the filler cap![]()

you definitely made some progress on this car. i still remember the day i took it for a test drive. it will look very nice once you lower it a little bit. are you going to keep that engine or any swap ideas in mind?

No swap planned, although it's always in the back of my mind. Really the only reason I'd swap motors is to install AC, would probably just buy a parts car.
Smoked Ecodes and short dummies on there way![]()

Oldskool.IndustryYeah Right!
All of your cars suck, you wear skinny jeans and smell like chicken nuggets.

I'm assuming you're referring to me... When I went to go look at the car, it was nothing close to what this guy bought it for. Trust me, I really wanted it, but I didn't have the time and the money to put into it. The car fixed before this dude bought it. Not 100%, but it was still better than when I went to look at it. So, please know what you're talking about first, before you call people names.
I appreciate what OP is doing with this car. I'm glad it went to a good home.

Got some ecodes on the cheap (DJ auto) , immediately took them apart to refurbish them.
Didn't really pay attention to what brand my MK4 lookalike headlights where, just noticed they are Hella.

bumpin any new things done to this beast?
#95
Thanks for bumpin! Still working on the ecode situation
Really the big project right now is I'm in process of ACing the car. This car was non AC from the factory and it's too hot. I've been cross referencing this site- http://www.davidprojects.net78.net/V...etrofitAC.html I have all the parts and should be attempting to do the install in a couple weeks.I love how VW is a "parts bin" company and most everything will bolt on if it's a similar 4 cylinder (abf, aba, abs, adz, acc, etc.)

I see you have the Thule rack. Any luck getting the feet to lie flat? Mine don't, and so i don't think it's as strong as it could be. . .

Nice, I had a 1992.5 GT special when I lived in Germany for my daily, it had an ABS motor as well but 4 wheel disc brakes power everything except seats, nice textured trim package, was a great car.
