I am selling my 1983 Volkswagen Polo, with 78k miles on it. Everything is original andw I bought it from the original owners widow after he passed away. It's the dream that we're all looking for - one owner, lived in a small village in England and only had it serviced in two places, the local garage in his village and the main VW dealership about 30 miles away. Although the widow did not provide the service history, I literally drove the car to the two places and got reprints of some of the service work myself.

It is fully registered in Pennsylvania, with a standard title and Antique tags, with all USA DOT/EPA/NHTSA paperwork as well. If the buyer is in Pennsylvania, I am happy to sign over the Antique tags so that you can transfer them without having to re-submit the car to the tag screening process with photos etc. This allows the owner to not pay a annual registration fee and the car is exempt from safety and emission testing etc too.

The car is in EXCELLENT survivor condition. Nothing has been restored, and there are minor scratches on the paint and interior, but overall is really really REALLY straight. The worst body issues are a scratch on the left rear arch and the front dam under the bumper where the metal in not perfectly straight. There is a replacement OEM exhaust system, all electrics work perfectly and the glass and body are in good condition. The interior is very rare even in Europe, and everything is correct including the trunk cover etc. With a good paint detail [edit: I just fully polished the car before H2Oi!] and perhaps lower suspension, it's ready to show and probably win at shows almost straight away.

The engine runs well, and I have replaced the spark plugs etc. It starts up immediately and the battery is kept on a trickle charger. The carb can be a bit tempermental depending on the weather [Edit: The carb has been fully rebuilt with new seals and jets. From a cold start it starts great and drives perfectly once at normal temperature. It just drove 300 miles round drive with any issues and no stalling etc at all]. It has never failed to start and drive, and the 1.0L engine with four speed transmission will happily cruise at highway speeds with 3 adults in the car - do not expect to be 80mph uphill though, as it's simply not what this car and engine are about.. Keep it at 65mph all day long and enjoy the photos being taken and all the thumbs up that the car gets everywhere.

The car is 100% stock including the suspension etc except for the wheels that I put on it. It will be sold with the original 13" 5 spoke steel wheels, with plastic center caps and tires. The 15" Orbital wheels in the photos are NOT included. It is a CL model, so from the factory has no passenger side mirror, no radio, no antenna on the wing etc. It does have a cigarette 12v lighter socket, a ashtray and a blower with heat which all works perfectly! I am asking $5,900 obo. I do not think there's many nicer examples with this interior out there, in Europe or here, and it's a reluctant sale - I have too many cars right now so this Polo is barely driven once a month at maximum and I would rather put the money into a property right now.

Car just drove flawlessly to H2Oi in Maryland and back. My wife drove it on I-95 in the rain and there was just no problems at all. Car was also fully washed and detailed before the show so it's looking rather snazzy right now
