205/45 =\= 215/40 in relation to how they stretch ad my fronts are perfect with te 215/40.

I only suggested 215/40r17 because they are a lot lower profile than the 205/45 so they wont rub as much.

What front struts do you guys have to have camber plates in the front? You can't use them on the airlift slams, correct?

18x8.5/10 et31/51 Been looking through and it seems like ill have to space the rears a bit. i was thinkin to run a 205/40 and a 215/40 on the rear.

static with no camber plates up front. saw some pics with close specs and its hard to say exactly because a lot of people are on air. any static pics and specs for fitment with close et's to this?
PM me if you have a mint/complete mk2 black dash

8-10mm rear spacer and those tire sizes should be fairly perfect I suppose

I'm the owner of the TR GLI and i have no spacers in the front or rear and the sean at forge said i may have problems with it hitting my strut...when i got them mounted it felt like it was going to rub on it and so far nothing

I mounted mine up and it was touching. Granted, maybe 2mm would have cleared, but i wasnt going thinner than a 5mm spacer. What front air struts do you have?

Also, i went with 215/40 tires instead of 215/35's, as ive got a lot of daily driving to do...but here's how good they looked at Oktoberfest:

Won't say what they are yet cuz I haven't bought them just test fit twice. 17x10 et25 front 215/40, 17x11et45 225/45. Fronts don't fit have to wait to get the new AL fronts but the rears sit sidewall max camber almost touching the strut. I think Ksport or megan camber arms and a 3mm spacer will make them sit arch between lip and tire, worst sit on the tire lip protector.

Last set, 17x9 et30, 17x10.25et 39 no camber on coils.
