Ive been working on it a lot more than driving it. I bought it last new years eve, I have put less than 800mi on it since then. I guess i am nervous about driving it around with an expired inspection, here in plano it doesnt take long to get busted.. you guys know how it is

Thanks! It's still very much a work in progress. It is somewhat drivable now, so I feel better about all the progress ive made.

I will be adding to it shortly, I just picked up an 2.0 ABF serpentine conversion.

My plan is to ditch the A/C and the whole complicated V-belt setup, run dual passat 16v cooling fans, maybe add a proper oil cooler.

Hey guys i got my mk4 running and ive been wanting to go to a meet or even the kart racing as someone mentioned early on the thread.but i work in rockwall in a place call auto parts recyclers for most of the vws.the place waspreviously called vdubs only in rockwall im sure many of u have heard of it.anyways sad to say we have alreqdy crushed many of them but we still have many of them left still sso hit me up or let me know and maybe i can hook up.

good to see so many new faces in the area....we are thinking of starting a new GTG in the in old spot behind snuffers and next to TGI Fridays.

Which day to do this is the question. Im voting for Tuesday night or how about Sunday durning the day...like around 12-1pm?? With winter coming hanging out at night can get old real quick. plus we can hut up Brickhouse Bar/resteraunt to watch games or whatever!!

hey guise. Im over in plano, I have a mk2 gti 16v. Im looking for a shop that can help me tune it. I just rebuilt the engine, Its running well, but wont pass inspection. Nox levels were too high.

Im hoping there is a shop around that knows about CIS-E motronic, can help with timing, and or has a sniffer.

There any friendly inspection places around here?- that will allow a couple passes on the rollers to get my timing dialed in to bring my nox levels down to pass. I think my ign timing might be to blame, or possibly an adjustment to my CIS fuel distributor for high nox.

would the dealer (boardwalk) be able to dial this stuff in? any of you guys work there or anything?

I live in Dallas, work in Plano. Drive a MKVI Golf R that got hit in a parking lot this weekend, I'm going to Progressive to get it evaluated tomorrow, but as I'm sure all of you are, I'm rather particular about this car so I'd appreciate any good body shop recommendations.

Would also love to meet some fellow euro enthusiasts if there's ever any GTG, I'm new to town and recently returned to the VW scene.

i'd like to know some good bodyshops myself. although i normally wouldn't suggest it, the best bodywork i've had in Dallas was the Midway/Keller Springs location of Service King believe it or not. Jarrod was my guy there and he seriously took care of me and did great work fixing the last shop's F-up. if you are in the area then at least meeting Jarrod might give you some confidence. but i wouldn't touch the other Service King locations with a 10' pole.

Where: Preston/Park - Snuffer's North Side parking
When: First Wednesday of the Month
Time: 7:00pm

(Parking is inbetween TGI Fridays and Snuffers)

This is the new updated plano meet. It was on the third thursday of the month but the date got changed so this is the new thread.
