    typo *Indonesian* Film...

Merantau was good, considering I haven't seen many Indonesian martial arts films. Hoping this is good. At least Iko Uwais did some choreography. Interesting to see Mike Shinoda doing the score.

Fights choreographed by Iko Uwais and Yayan Ruhian. The film premiered at TIFF (Toronto International Film Festival) and has been picked up by Sony Pictures for release in the U.S. Sony has hired Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park to create a new score.

    Overly Excessive Violence....

    Completely unnecessary. Over the Top.

AND I CANT WAIT TO SEE IT!! AHHHHHHH

This will fit in well right in-between my Ichi the Killer and Oldboy DVDs...
Few people understand the psychology of dealing with a highway traffic cop. A normal speeder will panic and immediately pull over to the side. This is wrong. It arouses contempt in the cop heart. Make the bastard chase you. He will follow.

DAMN that looks good! The hallway fight scene where he slams the bad guy's head into the wall 3 times...

Saw this on Sunday, this was my face throughout the entire movie:

It's in subtitles, but don't worry, there's more fighting than talking.

Indeed. Thankfully too, as the plot is thin and the dialogue is brutally bad.

Much like a Michael Bay film, I don't go to these for the dialogue. And this was pretty ****ing badass!

My only gripe was they practically never reload. No movie ever gets this right, and I normally don't say anything, but this movie is really bad about it. The bad guys spray machine guns for days nonstop. Other than that admittedly nitpicky gripe, it was badass from beginning to end

This was worth the price for the final hand-to-hand fight alone. Honestly, one of if not my favorite fight scene ever.

However, I think the best part of the movie was the sound direction. It created the mood and tension of the film brilliantly. The best analogy I can think of is picture of the experience of watching as surfing and the sound is the wave that pushes you forward. It's like a sensation of anticipating exactly what's going to happen and yet having no clue where it will take you.

Agree the sound work was awesome. Made me think of the original Assault on Precinct 13 where Carpenter used sound to build the suspense and anxiety.
