peoples choice voting isn't perfect. That goes for show cars, rock bands, art, etc.
You take a look at the car as a whole and decide "do I like it". Lots of cars to look at while trying to enjoy the day. We're not looking underneath the car or checking out if he/she has a perf. camshaft installed... It was a great day. the weather turned out nice and we got to park on the boardwalk. It was funny listen to vacationers making comments about the cars.
I agree with best of show WC. That Tan Jetta was perfection.
And eat it suckers, my car was by far the most awesome scirocco there! I'm glad that Jazz Blue mk2 scirocco stayed home. LOL

I think that's more of an accomplishment than first would have been in cabby class.

marc n amber did a great job pulling it together. it is a lot of work for one person. i wasn't planning on helping with it at all, but ended up sitting at the registration table, selling tshirts, and counting votes. the vast majority was all on marc, and it was a lot to coordinate, seems like everyone always needed him in more than one place, but he did a good job keeping things going smoothly. can't wait for next year. as for judging goes...that's what everyone should expect when it is held on the boardwalk and judging is open to everyone. some cars placed are going to be unexpected...best of show balanced that out a little though. i think everyone can agree that it was a good time meeting new people and kicking it back with friends.

I was as shocked as anyone else as there were PLENTY of cars that deserve it more than me. I didn't tell anyone to vote for me, because I could care less about placing. I just came out to show, look at some beautiful rides, and hang out with friends....some of whom I haven't seen in awhile.

What I can tell you is some people were even shocked my car even made it. I destroyed the front end wednesday night into the back of a silverado. Friday morning it was all back together. I know some people noticed I had the hood on for the show, but took it off when I left. Reason for that is when I went to close it, I noticed one bolt on the latch was broken and the other was stripped, so I wasn't chancing the hood flying open on the way back to Philly.

All in all it was a great day with BEAUTIFUL rides, friends, and waffles and ice cream!
