Hey all! Just like to start this new thread to share places where you've been just in a weekend in a way to show to the ones who lives far from you the nice places of your area, therefore it is best to post some pics.

    who's in?

time to bring this thread back to life!

Went to Miane, Valdobbiadene, to the "hills of Prosecco", north east of Italy a nice Sunday!

badly the weather wasn't as nice as I wish but it's been cool anyway!

    Getting there...

You can see my car in this pic!

    hills

    a strange sculpture

This says: "sometimes you just think and think about as you could do, as you should do to find that form and than suddenly a light. it comes out like that, you don't have to think" I still can't understand what he/she wanted to say..

as the signs say "land of wine"

I even got into a cycling race

Some many VW in it! that's cool!

In this hills is cultivated vines to make the "prosecco" a very good kind of wine

    queue heading back home

    that's all for this weekend!!
Time to go back to work now!

Living in Italy gives you an unfair advantage!

Slovenia looks nice. I'll be in Bled for a few days in June. Before that, I'll be next door in Croatia on the peninsula (Opatija, Pula, and Rovinj) at some point, along with Dubrovnik and Split.

Italy in June 2013 (my fifth time).

I'll be on an escourted bus tour from Dubrovnik to Ljubljana, so transport between cities won't be an issue.

You need to take weekend trips before you can take weekend trip pics.

High fuel costs have kept me in town.

    holy ****!
    that's such an issue...
how much are you paying for it? here is € 6,282 per gallon.. that means $ 8,30...
fortunately Slovenia is not far from my home so in 45 minutes I can get there and pay fuel at a cheaper price

I don't want to turn this into a gas price thread, but costs are still high by US standards, especially in California.

Road trip to Milan and Como.

Surprisingly little traffic for a weekend and the rail line through the Gotthard out of order.

Yes we did. It's a beautiful area. I should return one of these weekends with my scooter. Though I'm not sure going over the Gotthard with my 125cc Piaggio would be that much fun.

Drove down to San Diego for breakfast at Adam's Steak n Eggs, then up to Del Mar for the San Diego county fair.
