First off I want to thank everyone who came out on Saturday, we had a great turn out.
I also want to thank all our sponsors for the freebies and getting behind us. Without all of you this event couldn't happen.
Now with that being said I want to address some of the things I have read through out the posts here and elsewhere.
Yes this is a 2 person operation 99.9% of the time. Amber and I handle just about everything.
If it wasn't for some really good friends coming out and helping run the booth and counting ballots this thing would never happen. So to them I am forever grateful.
Yes, there were issues with the ballots yes and we are working on fixing it already.
Yes there were a few cars listed in the wrong class, but they were in the class they registered under
If you register a rabbit and show up in a passat, what am I gonna do?
Park you with the passats and hope people have enough sense to vote correctly.
I'm not saying that peoples choice isn't a flawed system, it is. But its not about the award is it?!
The other issue with Stock, Modified, and Super Modified.
Here are the definitions of each of these classifications as we interpret them.
Stock: Just that, show room original. All OEM equipment across the board. Period
Modified: Just about everyone that owns a VW/Audi. ANY modification that changes the vehicle from the original OEM specifications.
Super Modified: If you have modified the car to the point that it has an engine and or drive train swap, if it is track prepped, a big Turbo swap, supercharged etc. is a super modification to the original car.
Now I know there were alot of guys out there with engine swaps in the wrong classes.
I can't help what class people register for and I can't look at every car when it comes in.
I'm sorry if anyone feels like they got cheated because of the class they were in or weren't in. I will try to make it clearer next year.
Again I apologize for the confusion and I hope to see everyone again next year!
If you have any suggestions good or bad email me dubsontheboards@gmail.com I can't change whats wrong if I don't know about it.
Thanks again everyone see you next year!
Marc
