Thread: A man is given tests in life...

I do to a point. Discipline, on the other hand, I just think to myself, I'd never let my kid do that. WTF are they thinking?

I do hear you on that. She just got home from dropping her off at her dad's and I have been running errands all day.

So we finally talked about how there are two different conflict resolution styles within each home. And I asked her to talk to the child's dad and uncle about how they go about disciplining her. Pretty much asked if there could be some kind of cross communication between homes so that she sees the same thing or as close to the same thing as possible at each house.

She comes back totally different and sees different things and I personally feel it is a good idea for us all to be on the same sheet of music. The mom says she won't control what goes on there. So I'm at a loss for words at the moment.
    I think at 2, it's a bit early BUT it's a VERY good idea.

having 2 different styles not only confuses kids but also creates havoc on "responsible" parent. Sucks....

    Soon.

My wife went on a 3/4 mile walk yesterday. I think she is going to jumping jacks later.

I need to find a place to stock up on my sleep.

IT'S SOCCER PRACTICE...JUST PUT SOME SHORTS AND A SHIRT ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!NOT PROM!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So glad to have a son too....balances out the crazy.

I wanted to add that my, now 8 year old, daughter has matured A LOT over the past 5 months. It's shocking.

Sure she still throws some tantrums but she's gotten over some of the silly BS that used to push her over the edge.

I'm sure it's just a lull and we'll be back into the swing of crazyprincessisgonnadie stuff soon.
I'll savor it while I can.

5 more years before she ends the "do everything to satisfy your parents" phase and steps into "do everything to satisfy their friends" phase.

Let me tell you, it's not pretty.

If you plan on being around for awhile then yes discipline, if you plan on not don't bother! If you have a problem now it won't change to much through the years. Don't abuse the child! I have two that I clainm as my very own. Thank God for the biological fathers for not being in there lifes, these kids are wonderful! I would give them the heart out of my skinny chest if I have to. Thank you deadbeat daddies!!

    Congrats!

I wish I could freeze time so my girls were still little. The upside to them growing up is that they'll do housework for money. Sadly enough, they have no idea how to clean.

Thanks for the well wishes, all. Waiting for the jhondis testing to come back, should be able to go home today.

I think we must be the only second timers in the baby ward. The nurses have basically only come in to make sure we know how to push the call button. Number two is so much less stressful for us.

Oh, totally. #2 for us was a walk in the park compared to the first one. Of course our son was pre-mature. Regardless, the routine and expectations were understood by us with #2.

    Congrats, again!

Wow, even with number 2, the nurses were in the room every 45min or so. My wife couldn't wait to leave.

They came in for vitals and what not but after the first 6 hours or so on the floor they stopped coming in to remind about changing, feeding, etc. mainly because wifey was already on it like white on rice.

They did laugh, however, when we brought the little one back to the nursery after the two nigghtime feedings. They said most people get smart with the second kid and try to sleep for a couple of hours. Guilty!

Oh, are you kidding me, there was no way the second was going to sleep in the room with my wife. It is the only break you are going to have for some time.

As far as the nurse visits, it wasn't for any tips or reminders, they were taking vitals and bringing in paperwork constantly. I finally put the do not disturb sign up and said that we needed to get it scheduled in one clump to get it over with. I should have done that in the beginning because they were like, "oh, no problem."

There were a record number of baby's born the day our second was born. The majority of them were firsts for the families. We didn't get much help at all from the nurses or nursery.

Somebody next to us was having a rough time. Lots of crying, lots of nurses in and out, lots of "welcome to the club! From us"!

You're lucky you had two girls because if you had 2 boys, you wouldn't be done yet.
