Actually I had been considering the 50mm F/1.4G but the 50mm f/1.4 D has gotten better reviews. Now given that I already have the 35mm F/1.8 prime I don't really need the 50. I prefer the 85mm.

Trying to understand. The wheels you say were refinished by HRE and never remounted, but are used and may have some slight imperfections? Did you mean just the lips, faces and bolts were refinished?

You named all of the principal parts with the exception of the barrels. The inner-barrels are the only areas that obviously were't touched. Polishing them would've been unnecessary and and a waste of money for a daily driver. Personally, I would've had them powder coated, but I didn't refinish them.

Imperfections refer to any minor aesthetic blemishes typical of used / secondhand wheels such as: light surface scratches, polishing swirls,"small nicks..." and things of the sort. You mustn't expect a brand new, factory, end product.

Wheels are impressive. If your familiar with HRE's commitment to QA you should know what to expect from a restoration the company manages.

The price has a little flexibility, within reason... and shipping isn't a problem.

Absolutely. Call them and ask. The only thing you might not be able to source are the centers and the center caps. But you'll need to confirm with HRE. Who knows? They might have some old inventory or be able to make new ones. Everything else you can get from them or other manufacturers.

True. Not exactly the same but similar. Just used the pics as a frame of reference. New pics are up with the wheels wearing the caps.

Sorry...I only shoot Nikon. Already have a D90 and will be going full frame...Nikon also.
