Did a lot since last update. Port matched my upper and lower intake, removed more dead weight.
Also using my old hvac control panel and turned that into a guage pod. Got the gauges from on old junked 944 from the late 70's. Vintage!

for being willing to show a car in progress. keep at it as the satisfaction at the end is worth it.

Disappointing news on the car occurring in the last week. Pulled the passenger seat out and pulled the carpet up. Found some pretty nasty holes. don't quite know what the plan is at the current moment. talks of pulling everything essential and putting it into another MKIII/II but nothing official. He'll post pics later.

you didnt happen to buy this off some guy in austin did you?! im from mn also and almost bought a red jetta from a similar sounding guy in austin who bragged about the fresh coat of paint and then when i got it under some light it had rust spots he painted over, the hood was sprayed black and looked like ****, the hid he installed on the left light flickered and had a messed up intake, the only thing he managed to do was make a fart cannon look semi good on a vw, and i still dont like the look of it but it didnt look out of place at least.. and id say thats not a good acomplishment...

Ok, so i had a spare tb laying around so i decided to de-bridge the front intake side of the tb. Take a look at the new shinny metal where the bridge used to be.
I had some idling issues when i first installed it, but once the computer adjusted it soinds beautiful! Throttle response is fantastic. The car sounds just mean as hell.

There is a guy on eBay who offers this service. Been considering getting a TB like that. Thank you for doing this and posting feedback on results. How did you do it?

A dremal and lots of patience.. its how he port matched the intake manifold as well.

I did a ****ty job debridging it, from my research ive done i found that debridging the tb on an obd2 will render it useless. So i just wanted to seee if i can do it. I used a dremel and a 80 grit sanding wheel to do the debridging. Then after i got rid of the bridge i used 150grit to smooth the metal and then 600 for the final sanding. I am very pleased with thia mod. The car sounds amazing at idle and even better at wot. I did however notice at a constant cruising speed of 35mph 2100rpm that the car has a lttle bit of a hickup, meaning the tps might be a bit confused. But its so minimal that it doesnt bother me.

I figured it out. Two of the screws holding the tb to the mani was not tight enough. Tightened those up an no more whining.

Good lord, i fixed the exhuast leak i had, see pic below, and let me tell ya that vr sounds just pretty and menacing at the same time. I just love driving this car. I dont give a rats ass if its a bit rusty. The car is clearly a sleeper cuz it looks like a piece of **** car but under the hood is the secret weapon, add that and a stripped out interior and people get confused when a **** car can keep up with an r32.
I am going to go buy a magnaflow muffler soon and redo the exhaust to maybe 3 inches.
Also, ibthink the exhuast is the original, the po just deleted the 1st muffler and did a ****ty job welding it together. Im not sure if i want to spent money on some one mandrel bending a system for me. Im on a low low budget..... Decisions decisions...

Allllrighty then so today i was bored afterwork and found an old carbonio carbonfiber intake tube that sed to be on my bros mk4 jetta. He doesnt have the car anymore.
Then i took my dremmel and cut the bend off...![]()
I then made married my filter and the tube with the intake maf censor.
Once i was done i installed it.
I need to shorten the intakr tube about two inches. Right now the intake is jammed in there and i have shield i made from old license plates that i want to put back in again .

So today i tried vinyl wrapping something. There are a few pieces of interior bits that is bugging the hell outa me on my mazda 2. So i decided to wrap my make shift gauge Bezel that used to be my hvac controls on my gti. It turned out really nice and its not as hard as i thought. Thw corners were tricky but not that bad. Here is a pic.

Got a nice big box of spare parts for $50 from a guy who used to own a gti. Got a working tb, tension pulley, 6 fuel injectors, fuel rail, intake manifold, exhaust manifolds, downpipe and some other nick nacks. Can't wait to see if the injectors work. It's nice out too!
