I just want to mention, this strikes me as very Superhero-ish.

    Just... say'n...

Awesome build, can't wait to see this thing driving around looking like that. I love an original patina look.
    < subliminal URL... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phospha...ersion_coating >

Question, isn't 165's going to make the rims wider than the rubber?

    EDIT:

OK, so I'm replying from Page 4 on, as I play catch up- I'm not at all sure those numbers (165/45/15) match the rubber as fitted, just asking questions.

(They tell me; "If yer skurr'd, say yer skurr'd...")

I'm liking the fitment as shown. Myself, I like more sidewall, but thats just me. Overall, Kudos- I've seen far better examples to start from in the wrecking yard out here in California and it drives me craaaaazy...

    2nd EDIT:

I don't think I've been clear up to this point:

    "Hot Damn buddy, Hot Damn."

Had the car out to dust off today, it ran well and made the 120 mile round trip without any problems. It received mixed reactions from people but I could careless. The car is fun, I had fun and that's what it's all about.

I like it Matt. You didn't make the car look that way it is the way that you found it. It shows the age on the car. You are clearly not a hipster so fock all the haters.

So when you put the ABA in, what did you do about the evap system? Run it with the Rocco's evap or delete? That's pretty much the only part of the swap I'm stumped on.

Keep it up. Love this project.
Thanks for all your support guys, can't believe I have gotten this far after buying this rot box just to learn how to weld. The wheels are staggered 6.5x15 et 49 up front, I went with a 24mm apadter so the final et in the front is 25. The rear wheels are 7x15 et 25, the smallest 4x100 to 5x112 adapter you can get is 18mm. I ended up with a final et of 7 in the rear and it's perfect, I'm running 165/45/15s. I may need to put a 5mm spacer up front yet to get it completely dialed in and raised strut mounts are a must. I can't go any lower without them.

His axle, the inner boot was split on the way down so we called a friend and they brought a new one down from Pennsylvania to the show a couple of days after we arrived. Good times
