Got my VCDS cable, was able to activate my RVC no prob, did the staging too.

I tried to do the comfort turn signals, i changed them to 4. For some reason it still blinks 3 times only....i went back into VCDS and checked, it is set to 4!

is there something else i need to do? is this a 2012 issue maybe?

any other good VCDS tweaks you guys can suggest?

    thanks

I'm not a expert with VCDS, but i have the Windows up and down from remote feature. Maybe you have it maybe not could be another thing you can do. Try setting it to 5 blinks and see if it works. GL

I haven't fiddled with the comfort blinker settings, but I seem to remember reading somewhere that for this particular setting to "stick" you need to go to the MFD in the center console and under the comfort blink setting, use the "revert to factory settings." Basically, you set the number of blinks in VAGCOM first, and that becomes the new factory default. Reverting to it will make the new settings take hold.

This is hearsay, mind you, so it might not work, but others seem to have success with this. Good luck and keep up with your awesome mods!

^^ correct. After you use VAG-COM you'll need to reset to factory settings via MFD. this only seems to be the case for 2011

This is also the case for the 2012s. After the resetting the Convenience category in the MFD to factory settings, the number of comfort turn blinks will stick.

damn you guys rock!!! weird cause all the other tweaks i did worked perfectly except this one. I assumed fact settings would remove everything back to original

    gonna go try this now!

what is the thing where we can make the tailights go into a strobe action? how does that work? is it just upon a panic braking or does it strobe each time you apply brakes for a second or two initially?

How would i apply the strobe light action in VCDS(where is it)

    thanks guys!

I know what you're talking about but I don't know how to turn that feature on. Not even sure it's doable. Check this thread out, tons of helpful tweaks.

first off, YES the reset to factory setttings worked like a charm!!! thanks guys i was baffled by the blinkers not "taking" or "holding" my 4 blinks! love it!

the RVC cam and cluster staging seems to have held and taken no probs....even after fact reset. nice!

now ill go mess with the strobe, thanks again!

I think most settings are presumed to stick after VCDS says code accepted. The comfort blink was a problem until someone discovered that you reset to factory settings to have it stick. I don't believe there's a "list" just yet.

thanks guys!...this VCDS stuff is awesome!

I did the following tweaks to my 2012 Autobahn...

    -comfort signals to 4
-LED DRL will turn off when that turn signal is used(like the Audis do!)
-DRL on/off option to my MFD(now i can turn them off anytime right from settings)
-emergency brake flashing VIA brake lights
-emergency brake flashing VIA turn signals
    -sunroof/window close VIA remote control
    -teardrop wiper activated
    -RVC(rear view camera)activated

I just went looking thru each Byte of the central elec(09) and found some cool things to tweak.

I know i did a few other things but cannot remember them all!

Central Electronics - 09, Byte 15, bit 7. This did not work on my MKVI Golf 2.5, but it has worked on all the MKVI GTIs I've made the change on.

I don't think this works on 2010s...at least it didn't work on mine (I don't think...)
