At the end of the video I see the PS3 and Xbox logos? Did I miss something? I thought this was a community based car game for PC? Is there a planned "dumbed down" console release?

Yes, the game is being released on all of the consoles...however, I fully expect you'll be getting the sub-par version. I could be wrong, maybe they've made major breakthroughs in compression. But a cracked out PC running DX11 is going to be tough to match.

Apparently they were also working on the Procar M1 behind the scenes...

I don't know about that - in their weekly build updates they are routinely doing work on PS3/Xbox 360 or simple "console" versions. So they're definitely producing them. Now perhaps they'll come out later, or earlier, or be dumbed down etc., but I believe they're definitely doing them.

They've yet to deliver on something that's been said "yup, we are going down this avenue" so until that happens, I'm not doubting full console support.
It's been stated since day one that PC is first, then the others...other than that, nothing more to go on as of right now.

Yeah, you console folks got to remember that the PC version of this can hardly be called a "Game" at this point.
It's pretty much just a collection of tracks and cars at various stages of development, some close to being finished, some just "ribbons in the sky".
I never even bother racing the AI, it's pretty much a hotlap simulator right now.
That's not something console players can really comprehend being a part of.

They also (SHOCK) occasionally crash out themselves, or into each other. It's nice to know that they're not completely faultless. They do seem to be more competitive when they're close to you though. If you break free, occasionally it's smooth sailing thereafter.

Updates:
Ginetta is joing PCARS...never heard of them. They're adding three cars to the game.
Eifelwald (The Ring) now has initial 2d layer of trees on it, and basic terrain, so it is really starting to resemble the track. Textures are being updated weekly, lots of nice details already.
Rain is slowly being introduced...and the nice variable weather continues to wow.![]()

I think there might be one or two Ginettas in the VLN Series too along with other national series.

The more cars the better!!
#226
Yeah, they posted pictures- there are three different modern sports cars. They look pretty slick, and range from a rather meagre 100 horsepower model for teenage drivers to 300+ models for touring/GT racing.
Slightly Mad Studios is very happy to announce a new collaboration with Ginetta Cars that will see three of their massively-successful race cars being included in Project CARS.
Gamers will be able to enjoy the G40 Junior, G50 and G55 GT3 as the Ginettas will become one of the corner-stones of Project CARS’ extensive career mode.
Based on Garforth, West Yorkshire, Ginetta Cars is a British specialist builder of sports cars. Founded in 1958, Ginetta has been building sports cars that have competed in serious motorsport around the world for over 50 years now.
In 2005, the company took a new direction when Leeds-based businessman Lawrince Tomlinson took over the company. Since then, Ginetta has massively increased their presence in GT racing, offering affordable and safe cars to start promising young drivers’ careers and give drivers a competitive series to race in.
The three Ginettas have been chosen to blend in perfectly with Project CARS’ career mode as they’ll allow players to gradually work their way up in the world of GT racing.
Ginetta G40 Junior
The G40 Junior marks the start of every Ginetta racing career. Aimed at young drivers between 14 -17 years of age, the Ginetta Junior Championship gives promising young talents a safe proving ground in racing.
Powered by a 1800cc Zetec SE engine that puts out 101hp, the G40 Junior exceeds all officially required safety standards, coming with a FIA safety cage and safety cell. Performance-wise, the car is equipped with a six-speed sequential gearbox and a Quaife ATB differential, as well as Michelin Pilot Cup tyres.
Ginetta G50
Drivers that have proven themselves with their first steps in the Ginetta world can move on to the G50, Ginetta’s weapon of choice for FIA GT4 racing. Launched in 2008, the car was awarded Autosport’s National Car Of The Year award and races both in its own Ginetta GT Supercup as well as the British GT Series and the FIA GT4 championship.
The car enjoyed tremendous on-track success from the start, being undefeated in the GT4 class of the British GT Championship and winning the GT4 European Cup in 2009.
The G50 is powered by a Ford 3.5 liter V6 engine delivering 300hp. The power is transmitted using a Hewland six-speed sequential gearbox, and the car comes with Ohlins adjustable dampers and a MOTEC ECU and data-logging system.
Ginetta G55 GT3
Finally, the G55 GT3 marks the sharp end of the Ginetta racing universe. Weighing 1100 kilograms and being powered by a 4.35 liter V8 engine, the G55 takes on the cream of the crop in GT racing around the world.
The car is equipped with everything needed to compete in some of the world’s most prestigious endurance races, including a six-speed sequential gearbox with auto throttle blip and manually adjustable brake bias. Furthermore, drivers get to enjoy advanced features such as a quick-release steering wheel, power steering and a driver display system.
WMD members will be able to take a virtual test drive once first versions of the three Ginettas have been completed by using the regular development builds of Project CARS. To shorten the waiting time, WMD members get to follow every aspect of the car development process on the WMD forums, from the first steps to the finished car out on track.

Update:
All of the latest build work seems to be going to multiplayer preparation, so we're hoping for some multiplayer shortly. They've done a lot of work on the game's appearance, and a bunch of tracks - but were disappointing with no cars in the past month or so.
Today the first two builds of the M1 Procar, and Z4GT3 came out...and are pretty damn fun.
New weather (rain is almost done), etc. is pretty slick. I drove my first drive in the fading evening light during a torrential downpour on the Nurburgring (which by the way is about 90% done). Still lovin' the game, but really waiting for more cars and mainly multiplayer.

Ever since the update with the launcher every track I click to race takes me to the forums to upgrade my license.
Anyone else getting this? I can't race any or any track???
#230
Hmmm...nope, but what level are you? I'm just a normal member (not sure the title) and it works brilliantly. You do have to log into it, but once logged in - it auto-updates and runs everything pretty smoothly.
They did suggest a 100% uninstall of everything prior to installing the launcher version. I mean go in and delete file folders etc., a full wipe.
Sucks since the game is looking amazing now. I hope you figure it out.

Everything has been pretty slow for a few weeks...but all of the updates are dedicated to working out their online system, so it would appear we'll have online shortly.
Some work has been started on a few new cars.
All of the tracks are improving, and the buildings have been placed for Monaco, so it's starting to look interesting (most are blank-faced at the moment).

Quite impressed.... Someone finally got the elevation changes right!!!!
#240
On the practice/time trials you even begin in the little parking lot paddock area.
It's also much more noticeable elevation when you're playing full-screen, and the track isn't even close to being finished. They've got a lot more planned for it.![]()

I might have to pull the trigger now... Has there been any word on the various Nordschleife/GP Track configurations??

It's looking good! In regards to the simulation accuracy can we expect it to be on par or exceed that of iRacing?
