From reading other threads here, it sounds like there are more than a handful of old farts (like myself) that would like to meet up and shoot the poop about the good ole days... free from the moar lowz and skinny jeans crowd.

I'm trying to get an idea of who is really serious about being interested in such an idea, so chime in and let me know your thoughts.

Now, you kids get the hell off my lawn! Cut your hair! and get a goddamn job! BAHHH!!

Well not that I want to say my age or anything, but I was down this year with my son who's 26. Sooo do the math I'm also of the friendly curmudgeon persuasion

And beside there was a gtg for pregnant of newborn this year so why not the other end of the VW spectrum

    The more the merrier folks.

I was initially thinking 30+ but a few select exceptions may be made for those old souls still in their late 20s. Basically, if getting hammered and acting a drunken fool is no longer that exciting to you, you probably fit the criteria.

And yes Jackson - absolutely no douchebaggery will be permitted. To be completely clear, the definition of a curmudgeon is not a mean-spirited, evil, *******... Curmudgeons don't hate mankind, just mankind's absurdities.

I think this is very fitting for H2O as it has gotten more than a bit absurd.

I am an old fart who in the past 5 years of going to H2O thinks it has gotten worse every year. It all started going down hill with the S3 on the horse track. I love VW's for performance and the low cost of entrance, but I don't care that you have knock of RS's and slammed your MK4 raceland coils. I am in my mid thirties and have a bad back and ****ty knees. Take the DTF blue tape off your car because you certainly have no shot of getting laid and get off my damn lawn.

Now go get me a beer kid.

    I am down

Hope this happens. I cant stand being tied in with the "mk4 not low enough get drunk 24/7 tight pants spiked hair and rust brand new cars" group. I dont think I am the only young person to think this. I have owned vw's since I was 15 ranging from corrado to mk4. I loved the the shows back then and the crowds as the years go on the new group of people are just a joke not all of them. Just the ones who bash other peoples cars for not having 4k to drop on wheels or the its not low enough group.

These young kids have mommy and daddy to pay for everything they need or want unlike all the people who have jobs to pay for all they have and dont understand about the hard work people put into their cars. Then you have the thefts and damaging of property these "kids" just are not mature.

If you guys have a gtg I would love to drop buy if I am allowed.

I hear ya man... I bought my mk5 new, somewhat in a rush, to replace my mk3 when it was killed in an accident. Now I get grouped with the clowns even though I want nothing to do with them. You don't know how many times I've thought to myself "shoulda bought another mk3 dumbass".

Lol sorry man no offense meant. I'm sure you guys know what I meant if you have mk5s. Its a shame really... the new dubs are great cars that drive very well. Then they get ruined in the name of fashion.

I get carded and profiled by cops but I can't quite say I dress like these cats. The skinny jeans is where I draw the line.

Ha. Didn't think you were serious!!

I wasn't always a Subie owner. I had 2 dubs in my time. First an 01 GLX, then a 94 Golf project car. I miss the Golf. The project was fun while it lasted. However, the rusting was too much. I couldn't afford to keep it and I got rid of it. Sold the Jetta too after issues that just bugged me.
