I know why people in Europe want the ugly US tub plate... same reason I got my smoked Euro heckblende...
Anyhow. Just wait until the automatic breaks and the belts stop working.
It seems like a clean car otherwise.

Hey Lukasz... I've been meaning to ask... how did you manage to get your hands on a U.S.-spec Passat? Some U.S. soldier in Germany must have sold his there, and you got it from there?
In any case, looks nice.
I assume you put the front license plate back on when really on the road? I can imagine the police would stop you instantly, otherwise.
I had my U.S.-spec B4 VR6 Passat in Warsaw for six years, when I was with the U.S. Embassy there. I tried to sell it before coming back to the U.S., but all the Poles were scared of the gas mileage with "such a big engine" in 2008 when gas prices were really going up.
Too bad you didn't see it.
I tak, mowie po polsku, bo jestem "z pochodzenia."

Nice... but how did you get a rear license plate made that fits the cut-out, with letters and numbers smaller than normal?
Because for those people at the American Embassy in Warsaw who needed U.S.-size plates, the Foreign Ministry would issue plates whose letters and numbers were normal-size... which meant that the plates were often too large vertically to fit into the cut-out. I always assumed it was Polish law that all license plates had to have standard-sized letters and numbers...

Never liked saloons, allways thought 17s were the wrong size for a b3 and never looked right
This car has totally changed my view on both counts, looks absolutely fantastic
