If you watch all your movies on a 3" screen, sure, digital downloads/streaming content is the way to go. But for home entertainment? F that. Blu-ray or nothing.

I got my copy of Season One last night. I watched the documentary about how they did the transfer from the original film. They made a point of talking about how a simple up-conversion wouldn't work, because the show only existed in 480p video format.
Since the original TV show was edited and composited onto video, this new HD transfer looks brighter and clearer than TNG ever looked in any format. It really looks amazing.
I also found it kind of funny how so many of the crew who worked on the HD transfer specifically said they were trying to be as faithful as possible and not make any changes or "improvements". Almost like they were subtly saying "fsck George Lucas"
Well worth the purchase for any TNG fan. I got mine from Amazon for 54% off.
