      do you rub?

      I thought ET45 wasn't an issue if you're not lowered ...

      so you'd recommend ET50 only?

Alive By Time IS lowered (look at his sig), and he's saying that 8.5" width with ET45 is pushing it close to rubbing. ET45 won't be an issue if you're not lowered, but regardless I wouldn't want that much poke. My research suggests that an offset between 47 and 50 is best on 8.5" wide wheels, especially if you plan to lower.

Are you from the Austin area? If so, I believe we've met and done a drive together with a bunch of central Texas M3 guys. Funny how it seems like a bunch of us make the rounds through alot of the same cars.

The car in this thread (MK5 R32) is what made me think this would work.

I just ordered Advan RZs, dark gunmetal, in 18 x 8 ET 48. Not cheap, but I wanted something strong and extremely light weight, and these fit the bill perfectly - just over 17 lbs a piece. And they ain't bad to look at either!

It very well may work, but I'm not sure what the width or offset are on those VMRs. He also didn't say whether or not he rubs at all.

57.1mm center bore is what you're looking for me thinks.

Will I have any problem running my OEM when my R arrives. 18x8 ET 41. 235/40/18 tires.
I'm not worried about weight. They seem to work out on the GTI.
