Look if I do a swap it will be a aba or a g-60.
More than likely a G-60,the G-60 looks closely like the 1.6.
Plus the G-60 was born to be boosted.

Haboob is out before it was in.
I rekon all Vac. lines. are for california emission's.
I put a battery in it,and it didn't do any thing but the Ign. came on.I think I need a fuse block.
I also found a clean set of fenders..
It may take me a couple of weeks to get them.

They will be for patching not the whole floor.
I also found some non rusted front fenders.
Thus I have most of the replacement part to non rust the car.
Now I need to figure out the rear vallance.

not much new.just cleaning.
I went after the dirt again this is like the 3rd time.
I rolled up the rear wire harness in to the front of the car.
I vacuumed out inside the of the rear wheel well the was like 6 to 9 inches of soot in there.
That's what caused the rot.

I just got both of the seats out,now I am going after removing the carpet.

Uh I guess that wasn't to much explained,I meant a for the the love of a 76 rocco,but yes my sister was born in the same year so I guess I got a little side tract.
There was a Damn by where I grew up it had on it,17-76 "and the liberty bell" 19-76, it said 200 years of freedom.
I forgot the name of the dam but it stands in my memory to this day.
It was going out of yorba linda before chino,California.

Here is my main concern,is the fender well.
Its all in the skin.
I rekon its the crease that makes it different.
I think the outer fender I can hopefully find,I was thinking of asking hal.
The vallacce I want to keep specific.
I am not in a big hurry I have to find work again.

So I am thinking of using a 83 wire harness spliced in the old dash and steering column,and blend in a air
conditioning system.
Get it going with a j/h,and 100mm age,also use my 10:1" brakes with the rear disc.
keep stock dash and steering wheel,door cards and carpet,the grey/black hook and loop
Seems savable.
I want to make it drivealble so I can get it to where it needs to go for sheet metal work.![]()

This big prehistoric mess is going to be gone,the hose were so rotted and hard they
would have all leaked. The ac is a toss up.
i just may put a inter cooler inplace of the condensor,possibly a ko4 may be in thought.
but for now i need to make ie mobil so i can move if i need to.
plus the first riday of the month is gtg at our local vw dealership.

The brakes were bone dry.
Loo0king good except for the tear in the frame horn.you can see it by the engine mount.
black widow nest.
I cut out the old fuse block,these are going in to the dash.
Tail lights,but with the new harness will have the fuel pump wires.
I am useing a 83 harness,fuel delivery,engine and a 16v tranny.

During the week I am tearing down the 83 maybee,or we will see how far that goes.

Ok rear suspension out,fuel tank out,the mid brake lines split in too.
ordering strainless tomorow.
Next to remove fuel line,i am going carb to fuel injection.
so this means i am swapping s-1 to early s2 fuel cell.
I will be using the non transfer pump.

Good progress! Are S1 and S2 fuel tanks the same? I was always under the impression they were shaped differently.
I say do an engine swap, will be much more fun in the long run![]()

German autoart show the same gank from 75 to 84,
imust be that the tanks do not have transfer pump.
plus they have the large soare spare tire belly.

So i vcuumed out more dust,took a soft wash brush,vucummed,brushed,......

so far i have not found major rust, just small light spots.critical spots are clean
