Hello, I recently purchased my 2012 Passat SEL 2.5 from Lakeland VW with 0% financing.

    1) 2.5
    2) AT
    3) SEL
    4) Monster Mats, Cargo Trunk Mat, First Aid Kit Candy White /Cornsilk Interior
    5) I also had the dealer include window tint.
    6) MSRP was $29,435 + tint. I purchased for $26,435 including freight, not including tax, tag & title.

I had a great dealer experience. The entire deal was done over the phone, including the trade in value of my 2008 Saturn Vue. They gave me $14,500 for the trade. Ended up financing $11,935.00

    1. 2.5
    2. AT
    3. SE
    4. Candy white w/ black interior, Passat monster mats, trunk cargo system, first aid kit, OEM or equivenlent free tire replacement for 5 years, 3 years care free maintenance
    5. My salesman worked with me pretty well on the deal and actually new something about the car he was trying to sell.
    6. $25,200

It was smog time here in Cali for my wifes 06 Jetta and the car needed a new cat. The car was past federal warranty coverage and the bill was not worth the price to fix IMO. Now my wife has a brand new BEAutiful car and I think I am loving it more than she is. This car makes me want to sell my .:R and get the V6 SE.

Oh and it is a 2012 with about 312 miles as of now!

For what it's worth, a local dealer has a '12 2.5 SE w/roof (sticker $26,600) they are advertising for $22,995, and they have a regular 2.5 SE (sticker $25.8k) they are advertising for $21,995.

Pretty good deals to be had on what's left of the '12s.

Tore up papers. Dealership offered me same deal on same color 2013 and I took it.
They gave $1500.00 for my '04 GLI with 161K on it. Wife is great negotiator got them down to 1.5% finance.

Haven't paid for it yet, but will sleep on it tonight. I read somewhere that over the next two days is the best time to get a car the entire year, but I see that some of you have beat my price months ago

    1. TDI
    2. SE base 6M
    3. Black on Black
    4. Mats
    5. $25.5k + TTL ($374 total fees + $2100 taxes) = $27983.

Would like the price to come down $500 tomorrow.

Edit: went with the auto, got the above down to $25,150.

    1. TDI
    2. SE
    3. Black on black
    4. Mats and spoiler and locks and first aid.
    5. $27k + ttl

Yeah i didn't have to push too hard either. Sticker on it was $33,700, they came back with $33 before we even started haggling, and i said $32,700 and we have a deal, they took it and that was pretty much it. Charles Maund VW.

Not sure if this belongs since mine was "Certified Pre-Owned" 2012 SE w/16k miles and not new, but here goes...

    1. 2.5 (Candy White/Tan leatherette)
    2. AT
    3. SE w/Sunroof
    4. Monster mats, cargo system, first aid
    5. Full tank of gas
    6. $19988 plus TTL

Wish I could have afforded a TDI, but the only one they had was $34000 sticker..

I had a similar experience, sticker was $34,320 and really the only thing we haggled on was trade-in value. Gene Messer VW; hadn't had good experiences at other Gene Messer dealers, but the VW dealer has been great to work with thus far and very fair.

Segwaye, looks like you got a pretty good deal too

Yes, good call, i meant Diesel. First Diesel car I've personally owned so still not quite used to calling it Diesel.

I had to haggle a bit on the trade in value, but in the end we agreed on pay off of my F150 - and i was satisfied with that.

The most often mistake in the diesel community is calling fuel "gas". Don't forget it's the "GO" pedal not the "GAS" pedal.

    Been lurking for a while...

Some of the prices seem odd and misleading, tax, tags and fees

    Fees could be anything

  30. 01-12-2013 10:51 PM #205
JohnSVT, TTL is tax, title, and license fees due to your state/county. These vary from state to state and county to county.

In Lubbock, Texas tax is 6.25% and title and license come to something like $250... I don't have my sales details in front of me or I'd be more specific on the TL part.

  31. 01-12-2013 10:53 PM #206
I paid tax, DMV, and a $80 Doc fee. That's what "fees" are.

In my case ($19988+TTL in Northern Virginia), the "tax, tags, and fees" came out to be $727.35. The "Fees" came out to a non-negotiable $350 fee. That's extreme for most places but seemingly pretty standard the closer you get to D.C.
