I.S. Order Bank is like a dealer's order to the factory. At this point the order in is with the factory and the dealer is awaiting allocation of that order. You're more or less on a waiting list for your specific order to be "approved" for the dealer. Until the dealer gets allocated another Golf R, the car will not be built. When they are given that allocation, your specific order will be built.

ok so it will be built though thats all im worried about and it deff wont be here in january which im hoping for i cant stop thinkin about the car but i want to put a bigger downpayment and not ge the car when theres salt on the road and snow so hopefully im looking more toward march and april

If the order was only placed today, I'm pretty sure it'll be an "N" -- M06245 went by a long time ago.

I was wondering how long it's taking you guys to get build dates and / or VIN #s...
I put in an order and immediately got a commission number, and was told 2 weeks for build date, a month for VIN. It's been close to a month, and I still don't even have a build date, and I keep getting told that "VW isn't giving us information."

Does this sound right, or am I getting taken? Should I start looking at other dealerships to order one through?

We don't usually get a vin until the car actually starts getting put together but they should know the dates. Some dealerships are weird about giving that info to customers. I wouldn't think to much into it, it's probably just policy there.

I.S. Order Bank is like a dealer's order to the factory. At this point the order in is with the factory and the dealer is awaiting allocation of that order. So if there are seperate allocations for 2dr vs 4dr Rs...then one version could get moving faster than the other assuming one's order is in for a specific 2dr or 4dr.

Someone that is in the know can correct me if I'm wrong, but from what I understand, the allocation comes under a model as a whole, not by 2dr/4dr or base/premium packages...

For example, a dealer is allocated one R, and they have three customers that have ordered. What I've read is that the dealer then can choose the configuration that should go forward to be built first and that order will move to "Factory Order Bank" status and go forward with being built. At that point, I think it's just up to the dealer to pick the order that came in first (First Come, First Serve type thing).

Can a dealer chime in to verify?

My order M00144 was placed on 9/22 and I was told by the GSM at the time I was the "first" in line. Well, he was fired and the new GSM, unhappy with the agreement I had with the previous guy concerning the terms of my purchase (involved buying back a car I bought from the dealership), is telling me now that I am actually 2nd in line.

So now my number is still "IS Order Bank" and I am beginning to wonder when I will see my car. I don't really care if I'm first or second, but if that means the difference between getting the car Dec/Jan or Feb/March/April... well, I will be upset about that.

Is there any sense as to when ISOB will be built? Is there any sense that lower numbers are built before higher numbers? If you're not getting a dealer's first car, any idea when the next round is arriving? thanks.
