Still can not believe VW does not have some inventory built and ready to ship. I would have 10 qty loaded four doors in all five colors available to ship. There is demand-supply it...

I think there's too many variables: 5 colors, 2 body styles, 2 trim levels - with only 5000 US cars allotted for them to build for stock right now.

Maybe they'll build for stock after the initial ordering blitz calms down and they can see what the most popular packages are.

As is mine, 4/27 is the due date at port for the Shanghai Highway in Houston. Just over a week from docking! Of course it still has to get put on a car carrier and driven up to Chicago area but... on the continent is good.

I wish.. my sales guy isn't the most informative person in the world, he told me it just arrived, and I should have it end of april or beginning of may.

but if it helps any my car had a in transit ETA 4/23 when Tom updated.

I hear ya on not getting a lot of info from the dealer...I too am getting limited, but if I read the shipping sheet right and you being in New York yours should have come in on the Ocean Highway which off loaded in Davisville Ri yesterday or the day before.

now what makes me happy to see that is, mine should have left out on the 12th following the same route as yours on the Shanghai Highway. the Ocean Hwy only took 8 days to cross...which mean the shanghai hwy should be in Davisville tomorrow and then headed to Houston where mine is suppose to be off loaded...I hope anyway Enjoy the ride when she comes

Well, I almost cancelled my order with the local dealer, because I found my car in FL, but my local dealer told me my car had moved to Production Stock (4 months after order). He also tells me the scheduled production week is 4/23.

I would just like to get confirmation on this info, if possible.

So the Cougar Ace landed in Davisville, RI on Monday, and left port yesterday. It's pretty much spot on with the port arrival ETA date I received about a month ago.

Looking at the status update from a month ago, the next ETA date is "Release to Carrier" on 5/2/12 and "Dealer Arrive" week of 5/7/2012.

Could I expect the dealer delivery date to possibly be even earlier? The dealership is in Philly, so could it be quicker?

hey Angina, Im in Philly was told May 7 by Cherry Hill VW as the arrival date about 6wks ago. Was kinda sceptical about that...but now if thats what u were told, I feel better about May 7 actually being the date....maybe our cars are on the same boat?

Anyways to answer your question I think if the car hit port stock yest/today,
based on other ppl's experience May 7might be realistic
