Palo Alto GTG

Fellow NorCal Vortexers, I am looking to gauge interest in starting a weekly get together here in the Bay Area. I just moved here from MI for a job, and I want to meet some of the local VAG enthusiasts. Driving around, I have seen many a nice dub and I want to gather everyone for a meet and greet.

Everything is tentative at this point, so please let me know if you are interested in meeting up. The meet would be on Friday nights (because work has me swamped otherwise) somewhere in the Palo Alto area.

I look forward to meeting some cool California folk.

GtG for Friday October 21, 2011

1. Meet at 730pm at Lucky Supermarket in Redwood City

200 Woodside Plaza
Redwood City, California 94061

2. Depart from the meeting point at 8:00pm and drive Northeastward toward Half Moon Bay, along a route that includes Skyline Drive.

3. Arrive at Cameron's Pub in Half Moon Bay at around 9pm.

1410 S.Cabrillo HWY
Half Moon Bay, CA 94019

4. Order food and drinks.
5. Enjoy food, drinks, and good company.
6. Pub closes at midnight, so we'll have to be out by then.
7. Drive home feeling satisfied that you just hung out with some really awesome people.

Sorry, I Just saw this. I'd be down for a drive. The Burgers and shakes GTG is the 2nd Sat every month. That is not far from you.

I'd be into having something this close by. Live one city over in Mountain View, but I grew up in Palo Alto. Where abouts would you be thinking in PA? I'm trying to think where good spots are..

Yeah, I heard about the Burgers & Shakes GtG. I would like to start a weekly meet to complement the monthly GtG.

Back east, when I lived in OH, we would meet up at a pub every Tuesday to talk cars and enjoy some food and spirits. That is what I am going for.

As far as location goes, I am open to suggestions at this point. I have only been here in CA for 9 days so I have hardly any experience with the area. I am just learning. Heck, I was coming home from work the other day and ended up getting turned around and heading 20 minutes in the opposite direction of where I had intended. Good thing I love driving my car,

If I didn't make the stupid mistake of thinking that the 15th was the second Saturday of this month, I would have been at the last GtG.

I'd be in for a Palo alto meet for sure. I live right downtown. Maybe the rose and crown? Grab beers and fish and chips? Parking sucks there though, I usable ride my bike or walk. Maybe something on California ave?

This is a great idea! I will try to get out and cruise around a bit looking for decent parking. I am also not afraid of going to a restaurant/ business and asking permission to park. I think I can get it worked out.

Yeah, there won't be anywhere downtown where we can really park together on a friday night. However, if we wanted to meet up around California Avenue, those parking lots behind the businesses empty out in the evening and we could probably hang out there for a while to shoot the **** before heading out somewhere else. I'm definitely in to see how this turns out, and I'll keep my mind open for locations.

GtGs that I run usually go between 3 and 4 hours, or more, so don't think that next time! Also, PM me your contact info and I will add you to the mass text group so you can be in on all of the GtGs. That way you will, no matter what, be in the loop.
