2 wheels all bolted together and torqued with new bolts and rubber O-rings, gonna run an extra security bead of silicone around the centers later today and they should be set to mount tires on tomorrow

That car has things happening, just I don't post about it much. It is getting focused on this winter. Half the reason I sold 2 of my other mk1 projects this weekend

Got all 4 wheels bolted together, now need to put a bead or two of silicone in the drop centers and mount some tires I have laying around tomorrow.

They are in fact, the wheels were originally centerlock with like 10 centering pin holes in the face, after measuring the holes I realized they were close to 100mm pattern. So I had all but 4 holes TIG welded up and then had the remaining 4 oblonged to match the 100mm pattern, then countersunk in the 100mm position so the lugs bolt in like OE. Hopefully that makes sense!

Tonight I spent some time cleaning the dash, kneebar, and bezel/gauges. Again I used a combo of purple power, an old toothbrush, and some elbow grease to remove the 22+ years worth of dirt, grime, and mold. To my surprise.. the dash came out pretty good. A few cracks.. but nothing too bad for an early German dash.

Another cool swallow specific part.. the hatch with vents on the inside. The paint looks so nice in the trunk!

One way to stay motivated for me is to keep a rotating to-do list. Upgraded from a piece of paper to a marker board on the windshield. Also the mascot of the rusty westy moved it's way to the 4 door.

Also dug out the aluminum door sills I've had stashed for many years. Need to get these polished up when I get some free time.

Lastly I got the new chrome windshield trim pressed into the seal.. but unfortunately it was dark by the time I was done. Pics of that tomorrow

Lookin' rad. I'm sure it will be so sick once you're done.

Looking at the third picture down I was like, wow, those sure are some interesting floor mats. oh wait. LOL. Still though, sick find.

Thanks everyone! Got a good bead of black silicone on the wheel centers, so I should be good to throw some spare tires I have laying around on the compomotives tonight after work. If I am lucky I will try and get a few shots of them on the car

Pic of the chrome windshield trim installed that I finished late last night.

Also I need some chrome 4 door window trim, specifically the drivers side... just needs to be "usable".. perfect not needed. Anyone have any tucked away?
