It appears the angry old guy will only be happy if H2O isn't the weekend of Sunfest. His wife had to leave town??? Give me a break and pull your head out of your snobby stuck up rear end.

Well what I got out if it bottom line is they are trying to change the rules to make it hard for events like H2o to get permission/permitting but not too strict that it impacts the events they prefer like chuch bazaars, carnivals and Sunfest..
Oh and the line that the money H2o brings to the merchants of the area "isn't worth the disrespect that comes with it" Seriously?? I agree that a few people are disrespectful but it's not fair to lump all of us in that group. Plus is our people's 'disprespect' different than the 'disrepect' of the bike week people or the hot rod people or the Corvette people or the college week people? And why don't they ask the merchants themselves if they don't think our money is good enough.

Can't say it's overly surprising. I went last year and I remember thinking that it's only a matter of time before the retards ruin it for everyone else. Sounds like this year just upped the anty (someone drove a Supra into a hotel?) on OC's bid to get rid of the event altogether.

It's sad. And there are always gonna be haters. But for me, I like going to the show, walking around, checking out the cars. I tend to stay away from OC overnight, b/c it does get a little crazy. I don't need to be associated with a bunch of "punk kids" as most people see us.
I know this guy complained about it interfering with SunFest... but IMO if we moved it to a different weekend I think he would still be complaining. It's that way with every major import fest... people see us as just the "fast and furious" generation. I grew up in Carlisle, and the import show there got the same bad press, and was even shut down for a couple years.
It's up to us to be responsible and change that image.
I think its one thing to gather and have fun, but don't see the need to be out racing everyone in sight irresponsibly and causing damage whether it's thru vandalism or littering or whatever. It's a shame that a few people give the entire event a bad name, but that's always how it works.

What'd I tell you guys in a bunch of threads here? Ocean City HATES H2O and the locals also despise it.
Like I said, cars that were keyed it was probably locals and the people who received notes saying you almost got keyed were probably borderline douchebag behavior.......
Hotrod week, Bike week and etc are nothing compared to H2O since it has turned into a stanceworks lower it brah, all makes and cars party.

I agree with some of what they are saying. Some of the young punks in the scene have NO respect. I may be some what old school and was raised to show respect, but some of the crap that takes place over that weekend is unacceptable. On the same token there are a lot of good peeps in the scene. I guess what they say is true it only takes a coupe bad apples to spoil a bunch or in this case a couple of D-Bags to spoil H2O. They can not stop us from coming, but they can make it harder for Jay to put on a show. Or even impossible. Just wanted to throw my 2 cents in on this.

I can't believe you guys are surprised by this or are trying to blow this off. Its not a surprise at all, and it should be taken seriously. The show has gone from a medium scale laid back event into a full blown three ring circus cluster****.
Are the locals being a bit whinny? Probably. But do you honestly expect otherwise? Cruising is fine, but the drag racing on the strip and burnouts and **** is going to get this shutdown for everybody. Not to mention all the beachweek antics which just have no place here at all.
Come on guys.... can we all please act like we've spent a weekend away from Mommy and Daddy before??![]()

It was my first H2O that I've gone too. It was a great time but it did have its moments that weren't necessary. I agree, the drag racing, drifting at u turns, and the "skidding of the wheels" as the cops there call it, isn't something that's needed. Hopefully they don't get rid of the show because, like I said, it was a great time with friends and being able to see cars that guys and gals had put a lot of time and money into. For every person that doesn't do something stupid that weekend, there are 4 racing or peeling out. Some people just need to grow up and see that what they're doing isn't going unnoticed to OC residents.

Excellent. Now what about the rest of Ocean City? Maybe we can offer a stance clinic, and once they see how cool it is they will all brah out and join?
Give out some bullhorns and have them join in?
Give them exclusive rights to selling oilpans, and charging owners for oil cleanup to cover the environmental costs?

All the cops I talked to that weekend basically said Hot rod week is the worst and that H2O its just annoying little things compared to that week... now this year there was a supra parking in a staircase, but a few years back you had some hot rod try and do a burnout and crash into a city bus with people on it. Now I know we got lucky nobody was seriously hurt but just saying
Hitting a bus > hitting a Staircase

H2Oi doesn't even have anything to do with OC. The show isn't held in OC (which the SHOW is H2O) , everyone just stays there that is attending H2O. The reporter needs to get their facts straight.
Jay stated at the end of the show this year that he was trying to obtain a piece of property to hold the BBQ and show at so it wouldn't be such a problem with finding a location anymore. I think we should all donate a bit of money to him toward it to get one so we can enjoy H2O for years to come.![]()

i wish jay would do one thing, CHANGE the weekend this show happens, it's just too damn rain ridden. don't get me wrong early fall is a cool time for a show, but this year was miserable for the most part.
hell hold it the weekend of waterfest and destroy that show and put it it out of its misery, nj and their ****ty roads and all![]()

Prob with Waterfest is that it's sooo hot! But...I guess that's appropriate 'beach' weather. But then you have to worry about all the vacationers in OC and there not being a wide array of hotels/condos to stay at...if any at all since it's peak season.
