Since everyone here seems to be doing a show and tell these days, yay:

Everything else is good, got a ton of miles and there has only been 1 autox since. Got some star specs on the stock rims, should be good to go for stock class, yay.

I'm sure everyone here hates miatas, especially miatas that came with hard tops!

Also, it's a Rustoleum Gloss Royal Blue ROLL ON job

I've shot many a car in the past, but was really intrigued by this process. About 50/50 mix with mineral spirits and a few roll on sessions!

Hard to see with high iso night grain:

I remember Hot Rod magazine doing this on a Falcon or something and it turned out alright after some wet sanding. From what I recall only certain colors and types of paint would work for roll on method. I too would like to see the paint when outside.

I'm tired of these broke ass paint jobs. Serious, the real deal is not that expensive and looks 20,000 times better.

Go to your auto-paint store, ask to check out there extas... and boom, some SW 7000 for $50.

Did you polish this already? If not, I have to say I'm impressed you got it that smooth with a roller.

    Here's a for rusto/oil paint jobs.

To be fair- and shiny paint looks good in small pics.

Some people have plenty of time and no money.
So the "takes forever" roll on paint job makes sense to them, especially since the cars they are painting are worth less than even a good MAACO paint job.

You don't recognize him from posting in TCL?

I assume he has a rather stressful job/life, because he always seems rather intense in his posts.

But I do agree that if one can scratch together the means/equipment to get a proper paint job (even if sprayed outdoors), it will be a much better paint job and will lats longer.
IIRC- these roll on rustoleum jobs fade after a year or two.

Once again, you buy $30 in garbage paint... you then spend $30 in thinner and $100 in shop supplies... and get a garbage paint job.

Or, you go buy some single stage PPG, SW et al for $50 thats in the bargin bin at your local pain-tstore... borrow a gun, borrow a compresor (or buy a HF gun, or rent both, $35 a day) and spray on a quality paint that will cost you maybe $50 more. If you can't spare the $50 you have no business painting you car anyway, you should be using all that time rolling, sanding and re-rolling to find a second job.

And you are correct, should read, $30 in supplies. Plus I could have shot it with an airgun, but where's the fun in that?

The clown car above is a serious case of fail, not representative of roll on paint by paint experts, hahahaa.

See I would call you lazy, but the 3 minutes it takes to hang $12 worth of 6mm of plastic sheeting seems much easier then 30 coats and wet sanding of rustoleum.
