Finally got to do a test fit and play with a set of spacers.

-Wheels got filled and redrilled to 4x100 and the centerbore at the get milled out 1.1mm. Today was the first time test fitting them to see how it all fit(as far as the centerbore and redrilling goes) and its flawless.

Im happy with how the wheels fit. They are 16x8's all around and i think thats how i am going to leave them.

In the photos, there is a 20mm spacer in the rear. Im going to go with a 15mm spacer in the rear and an 8mm in the front (too close to the coilover).

    Rear with 20mm spacer

    Front with no spacer

    Photo to show the fitment

Curious to see how it will be when you bring it down... did you do any test fits with a block under the wheels to see how it lined up? Im going to be running about the same offset

They are going to sit perfect. Im going to run a 15mm spacer in the rear instead of a 20mm(which is in the photos).

Didnt drop it down on wood because there are 4 bolts holding the wheels together that are hand tight AND i dont have the proper lug nuts yet (have to buy tuner lugs).

I'd take it back to the shop that did it and request a proper re-drill with countersunk holes.

It's really no big deal, I'm perfectly fine with running tuner lugs. Plus, it's all hidden by the centercap anyway. And I'm poor lol

It's one of those things, yeah I wish I couldve done it, but it being my daily driver, I couldn't take any more down time with the car.

I may go back one day, and shave the pinch welds and smooth out the rocker.

Dropped the hatch off at the painter earlier, should see it by next week.

I still have the old lock cylinder from when i shaved the tub on the NA hatch. Does anyone know if i can take that lock cylinder and put it in to the euro hatch. Like is it compatible?

You're using spacers on multi-piece wheels that you had re-drilled.

    GET BIGGER LIPS YOU ***.

I am getting bigger lips, theyre gonna be 8.5's up front and 9's in the rear. Probably going to run a 10mm in the rear and a 5-8mm up front. Just to get it to sit EXACTLY where I want it to.

Look up the DIY in the MK4 section using a gas door popper... can't be too hard to make it work for a MK3.

This weekend starts the i guess, second, stage of the Ginster. First was the exterior. Over the weekend, i bought a great daily driver and finally am able to do what ive been planning for months, tearing into the car.

The car is going to be down officially this weekend. Going to get the front clip off and get everything ready to be pulled.

    Plans:
-Shave bay, small holes welded, big holes in fenders welded. Keeping rain tray and pretty much all the factory lines. Shaving seam sealer also.
    -ABS to Non-ABS conversion
-Pull motor and trans, clean, and repaint (dont know color scheme yet)
-Strip harness, extend everything, re-route so its hidden
    -Repaint bay factory ginster yellow
-May be rebuilding engine and adding some boost, maybe.

    Interior:
    -Fully flocked interior
    -Color matched roll cage

    Exterior:
-ABT goodies, front lip and side skirts (REAL ABT)
    -Some trick headlights

    Wheels:
    -Fully refinished BBS RF's
-1.5" slant lips up front, making 8.5"s
-2" slant lips in rear, making 9''s
    -BBS Design Line Yellow Caps
    -Painted silver centers
-Polished lips, bolts and hex caps

It will be staying at my buddys garage and be worked on my him and myself probably every weekend until its done. All the paint and bodywork is also being done there by him and myself. Anyone wants to lend a hand or even come shoot the ****, just let me know.

The last picture of everything before it gets torn apart!:

Consider this build stage part 2!, more pictures to follow this weekend!
