Car is a 2001.5 B5.5 Passat wagon with about 203,000 Kms right now. I've owned it for almost a year and have tried to bring it up to speed on maintenance and fixing the issues it has for an 11 year old car. It is currently stored in Rockwood.

What it has:

Every option known to exist in 2001.
Homelink, rain sensing wipers, power heated seats (that work), fog lights, climatronic (that still works, including AC), folding side mirrors, tilting passenger mirror when in reverse, memory seats, etc.. etc.

It is a V6 with the auto/tip tranny. Shifts very smoothly, except for a little 'drop' when it goes from 2 to 1 while in auto mode (normal for these cars).

What I've done to it:
Serp belt
Prop shaft seals and boots
All but one control arm (there are ten on these cars).
New rear diff and seals
One new front axle
New PCV system and valve cover seals (they like to blow out if you don't fix the PCV)
New front flex lines
New fan viscous coupling
New CV boots on the front
Plugs, wires, fluids.
One Flex pipe

Coolent Flush and oil change done last November

Probably more that I can't remember right now....

I have reciepts for everything. Even the Timing belt that was done by the previous owner at 150K Kms.

New fenders (no signal light, the originals were rotted out)
Resprayed hood (my painter in London needs to redo - it got crapped on by a bird while it was at his shop)
Resprayed/filled front bumper (no plate holes)
Resprayed drivers side driver and passenger doors
Resprayed drivers quarter panel

Mods that I will leave on:
Chrome mirror caps, chrome handle covers, chrome hatch accent, Phaeton antenna (still works too), THOR skidplate, Passat monster mats, clear bumper markers (not connected though), boat horn.

Mods that I could sell it with:
Chrome/black badgeless grill, ST coilovers, New DEPO headlights with 6K HIDs, Euroswitch, wooden false floor, roof bars, OEM sunglass holder

The 'bad'
Trunk could use a respray too - some rust forming, and a few pits on the leading edge of the roof where it meets the windshield. See pics below - my plan if I keep it is to spray the trunk and roof
Trunk doesn't open with keyfob, and won't pop all the way with the door switch either, must use key
Auto dimming mirror needs to be replaced (I will include a replacement that has comfort LED's and the switchable dimming feature that will last much longer than the auto dim).
Both front door control modules need the 'solder fix' - common for Mk4's and these cars. Not an expensive fix if you follow the DIY in the Mk4 forum. I was gonna do it myself. Not a big deal, just bugs me. Essentially they don't know when they are open or closed - doesn't affect anything though.
Half MFA gets splotchy in the hot weather (also common) - there is a group in the GTA that will swap it for a hundred bucks.
Has a CEL for a Cat - which may not be a true code, but havn't looked into it much. A new cat would be about $200.... or you could space out the O2 sensor to trick it.
One of the chrome strips on the bumper is cracked - you could fix it for about $40 by buying a new one on eBay or through the Source.
Car has a little shimmy around 60kph - pretty sure its due to being low - should be cured with cranking the coils up or putting back the stock suspension. OR I'm just wayyy to picky.
Driver door pull isn't in the greatest shape. Can easily be replaced from the dealer, I just havn't done it since I might swap all the wood for a different style trim.

I'd like to see around $5000 without the mods listed in the 'could include' section above..... I can throw in mods for a little more depending on the buyer. Current wheels are the OEM wheels, but painted 'Tremclad Recreational White' - I have OEM mirror covers in the same colour I will throw in too. I have wayyyy more than $5K invested in this car so far.... almost half of that in control arms alone

Looking for around $6000 as it sits in the bottom set of pictures - just with the stock head unit. So that's with the chrome, coils, and HID headlights, PLUS all of the stock parts too.

Open to interesting trades too - but it must have wheels... Baja Beetle, Smart Fortwo deisel, Ruckus etc...

Reason for selling

Bought a Mk6 GTI, don't really need three cars in our family, would rather not worry about storing it long term, but I can store if needed.... so I'm not really looking for lowballers...

Bump... getting closer to a full sale on this come spring....

It's now stored (inside, properly). Will come out of hibernation in April.

Have replacement switchable auto dim mirror (with red LED for ambiant light at night), and a full 42 draft designs Interior and exterior white LED kit). Will also come with all my stock parts if purchased with the mods (old lights, suspension, mirrors etc).

Also considering selling the Avic D2 head unit with the car too....

Oh, heater core was flushed and it's got plenty of heat now.
