I'll give it a shot, but not in the theater, unless it looks better then it sounds.

I'd like to see cameo's of Reginald Veljohnson & Samuel Jackson in this one.

Part 3 is my favorite. The chemistry between Willis and Jackson was perfect.

The only movie in the series I didn't like was Die Hard 2, otherwise, I really like this franchise! Hans Gruber's cousin or something should be in this movie.![]()

I just hope they don't make this a PG-13 movie like the last one. I hated seeing it in the theatres and not hearing John McLean dropping f-bombs every other word. Then when the "unrated" DVD came out they dubbed the f-bombs in. Most of them take place when you can't see his lips and what he is saying. they need to make it like anyother Die Hard.

i would still make an effort to go see. i just don't think it's that well made/written/filmed

If there's no "funny" comments while somehow figuring out how to shoot a motorcycle into a hovering helicopter then maybe I'll watch, the trailer that is.

As is typical with sequels, Hollywood either remakes the same film over and over or forgets what made the original great. The first DH was great because it was McLane alone against seemingly insurmountable odds in a restricted environment and it had a great villain in Hans Gruber. They haven't hit on that formula since, especially in terms of charismatic bad guys. In the 2nd film, they essentially remade the first in an airport. The last two were essentially buddy movie scripts re-written using the characters.
That's not to say they aren't somewhat entertaining - I liked Die Hard 3 a lot and 4 had its moments.

Not to sound like a purist but the only one that I truly regard as a classic is Die Hard (1988). It had everything necessary to make it a classic: great villain, a single location, simple setup, a badass hero, Christmas jingles, Reginald VelJohnson, original script, yippee kai yay...
