I have had mine on for about two months now.
Mine all measure at 25" from ground to fender. I want to get some spacers for front and back. I haven't had any rubbing issues with my wheels, 18 inchers. I'm satisfied with where it sits now. I can't drop it any further due to crappy roads. Stiff and bouncy on the bumps.

That's actually how some companies package their rear shocks.

Weird. Every set of shocks I got were banded and I'm on my third aftermarket suspension.

I forgot where else that this exact same question came up, but I have no idea how they keep them down like that.

I was wondering the same thing when i got them but there wasn't any bands holding them down so i figured that was just how they are designed. And I know people want slammed specs and I can turn them down all the way when i first install them and get measurements but other than that they are getting turned back up for winter.

So is there a trick to get the rear shocks to valve out all the way? I thought they were dead when we got them out of the box. That's why I still have my "stock" (KYB) shocks in. I had them sent back and requested replacements and I got another pair just like that, again.

You can just pull them out by hand. That's what i planned on doing at least and go from there. At first I also thought they were blown or defective but after seeing that it wasn't packed with any bands I assumed that's just how they were designed.

most shocks and struts come that way. theres a small locking tab built into the body of the strut/shock. when you turn the shaft a qtr turn.....open sesame

Just got my set in today around 6pm..only had enough time to do the rear and i noticed that the shocks werent band in the rear aswell...

How does that make any sense though? Ive done suspension on other types of cars and they all expand back out? And are band..

Well looks like im going to be calling Ami Motorsports tomorrow and see what they say. Ill let you guys know once i hear from them.

Reading > wheels are coming in today, should have them on tomorrow or possibly even later today. Then I'll get some pics and post em up. Won't have the spacers though until probably Monday-Tuesday next week. But I will drop it to take pics

Hey everyone, sorry I have not responded to the questions out there but our subscription to the thread somehow came off and we missed it!

The Rear shocks are not pressurized, they are a very low pressure Hydraulic shock and DO NOT extend on their own - they control the body with out pressure in both directions.

For those of you that have them and have not installed simply Purge the shocks before install:

1. Hold the shock in the vertical position just like they will be installed.
   
2. Pull and Extend the shock to its full length
   
3. Then compress the shock to within 1" of full compression (so you can still see 1" of the shock shaft visible above the top of the shock body)
   
4. Repeat this 2-3 times and you will see that the forces required to extend and compress will be much higher.

Then you are ready to install!

Just to be clear for everyone out there can you confirm a few things?

When you say all the way down you have the perches in the front and rear all the way down to the least thread, with all the included hardware/parts installed?
(ie the helper springs are still in the front, as well as the spring perch in the rear?)


Can you tell us what the size and offset of your wheels and tires are?

Can you give us the center of the wheel to fender measurement as in the diagram below:

For the rear 18x 9.5 offset of 30 with falken 512 225/40/18 and 10 mm spacers.

Personally I think they ride better slammed than they did when I was spun about half way down

Solo and most manufacturers recommend that there is at least 5mm of space between the inside of the wheel/tire and the suspension to ensure safe operation of the vehicle.

In this case the wheels used did not clear the suspension, so a spacer was used to create this clearance. Not all wheels will need this.
