Makes an interesting comparison to the one with 3 million miles (though a different body style).
That (op) would be quite a specimen to own!

What an ugly car. No wonder Volvo is bankrupt.

A friend of mine called about it for his old man ... Apparently it's part of some guys private collection which has always been stored in a temperature controlled environment. I'm not even sure if this car has seen daylight. Currently it's on a circuit around the country being trucked from show to show... I hear the owner is asking in the region of $90k for this beauty. This car belongs in a museum, although i would daily drive that like no ones business.

My '65 Beetle, totally original/OEM with approx 30K miles on it when I acquired her in '97, had rubber weatherstripping and upholstery that was as supple and fresh as new. It is largely a matter of how a vehicle is stored, especially away from direct sunlight as much as possible, and if the owner dresses the rubber parts regularly. The original owner of my VW was fastidious in caring for his car, and dressed the rubber weatherstripping with silicone all the time, according to his daughter, who told me the history of her dad's car after I purchased it from the second owner.
This Volvo is simply fabulous. Loved 'em when they were new, and seeing a brand-new one 40 years later makes me feel all "spendy" inside. I wish.![]()
Do you enjoy old cars and long-winded stories about them? If your answer is "yes", then you might enjoy my blogpage. Try it here: http://vwlarry.blogspot.com . Leave a comment, too; I love feedback! Thanx for reading.

Wow 88 miles. Hard to fathom such little mileage for such a long period of time.

Such a nice car... inside and out!
Interior looks better then quite a few modern cars (especially before car makers started to focus on the inside a bit more).
My dad had quite a few Volvo's of around that vintage (a 72, 75, and 77... 140's and 240's) loved all of them, none of them gave him trouble. He said compared to most of his co-workers cars at the time which were frequently running like crap and having all sorts of issues (even when only 1-2 years old) his Volvo's were like Swiss-watches - never skipping a beat, high quality, mechanically perfect... He said even with 'only' 100-120ish horsepower the light and torquey Volvo motor kept up with traffic without much trouble (injection, and later closed loop electronic injection at a time where miles of vacuum plumbing was normal - sucking the life out of most engines).

Like i've said in all of these threads, it would be pointless to have this car. You wouldn't drive it, so whats the point?

Bought my Miata from a guy that had a yellow one of these stored under a cover (along with a mint '73 Porsche 914 and another Volvo sedan from the 50's). Cool cars![]()
