  1. 10-21-2011 12:57 AM #1
Hey Fellas.. I know yall know my Camaro, but I think ill show you all my other build(thats a total different approach from the Camaro.)

Heres my 71 S30 Z done in Shakotan/Kyusha fashion.. i know some wont like it, but i enjoy her.

    Just having fun..

    anyways, here she is..

    15x8.5 and 15x9 SSR MK3 wheels..

L28 and 5 speed swap with a super old 80s 4BBL manifold that i dont know where it came from.. works good tho..

and my affiliates.. not stupid randoms stickers, every Senjafuda, and kamon means something to me..

    hope you guys dig it..

Love the wacky exhaust. Is this (modding style) associated with Bosozoku at all?

I believe it is where the bosozoku took inspiration from and then went crazy with.

I want to hear what that thing sounds like with the 4bbl and exhaust.

I dig it. I like the blacked out trim on the windowframes and the fender mirrors...you gotta get rid of your door mirror though IMO.

Looks like a fun car. 70-71's are the best

I 2nd this motion. I would post the pictures from another thread but will leave it to the OP if he deems it necessary.

The 240 though is awesome. Whenever i see a S30 it reminds me of this.

I could never get down with that style of exhaust on any car, and it's no different here.

Aside from that, I like it a lot, though I do agree with one of the above posters that you need to ditch the door mirror since you have those cherry fender mirrors.

Yeah, first dissent remark. Not a fan. Honestly, ruins one of the best looking mass produced cars ever. The lines are so clean its a shame to do something like this to one.

Props for having a concept and carrying through though. A lot of cars look like they were put together by someone with ADD.

Looks great! I'm hoping to get a 240 this spring. Yours isn't the style I'd go with but it looks really good.

What do you do for a job that lets you build all these sweet cars? I think I've had your Golf and Camaro as desktop wallpapers over the years.

I like everything but the carb and the exhaust. (Though being an S30 owner myself and running triple webers I understand the carb conversion from a simplicity standpoint as well as the exhaust from the style you're trying to capture).

Between this and your Camaro though, I must admit I may be getting a bit of a bro-mance for you. (No homo).

The door mirror I have been meaning to take off, ive just been lazy to take off the door panel and finally just do it.. Im a lazy bastard.

    ahahha

and the funny thing about the carb... Well what happened was, this car was sitting in my shop waiting for me to do something with it, I have another 72 S30 with an LS1 in it, so this one i wanted to keep japanese..

We frequent junkyards for parts and fun.. then my homie on his own junkyard mission found that intake manifold and it looked like it was pretty interesting.
a Z guy here told me that it was an oldschool setup and was pretty rare.. so i picked it up.. just for fun.

when we put it in the car, it snowballed from there..

it ran well.. so i had to lower it.. so i lowered it.. i had to put wheels on it.. i put wheels on it.. etc.
I carnivorized parts from my other builds that I wasnt using(like the fender mirrors which were from my Camaro) the wheels from my Celica..

and a week later.. that was it..

and the suspension is Tein Coilovers.

For a cheap, just for fun with cannibalized/junkyard parts kind of car (he already has some radical stuff in other cars) it seems about right, and damn near period perfect.
I love cars, but the problem is they are like schroedinger's hobby. They're always in a quantum superstate of being both awesome and a huge waste of time and money... until observation momentarily forces them into one state or another.
