Oh noes Barry the dress doesn't match! lol
He must not be the best tracer ever!?!?!

      /end sarcasm.

The finished product looks very amazing, the attention to detail is phenomenal. I wish I had 1/10th of that when drawing.

Keep up the good work man!

Really? I wouldn't believe it if anyone wanted to start slinging idiotic insinuations about this guy's work after seeing the process on Barry's commission. That's talent. It all looks fantastic.

It does. Creating photo-realistic drawings requires no creativity; It's all technicality. Now, if the artist adds their own alterations to it then that's an exercise in creativity, sure.

How is it not creative? Someone had the idea to do something, a spark. Also if you noticed in Barry's drawing, its not exact to a T, he added his own touch.

I doubt 99% of TCL could do what this guy does.. which is why there is so much hate on it.

Or... people have a natural eye and hand for this sort of thing from birth or through developing skills, which is called ... you guessed it... Talent. Good try though.
You're talking about talent. I never said anything about talent. I was talking about creativity.

There's no natural eye when it comes to technicality. It's all about knowing how to draw; that's it.

No hate. He's obviously very good. It's still not creative though. Also, i said that an artists personal touches can be considered creative so we do agree about his "personal touches"

      Some people.

I didn't pay him to be creative; get it, or get over it. Let's see your work.

TCL always seems to find a corner to piss in.

I didn't comment on you paying him. I commented on the fact that you said he's creative.

Either way, you're getting what you want and he's very good at what he does

Still waiting to see your work.

Obviously, you missed the most important part of the thread, the title.

Simple, it is an expression. Regardless, there is a dedicated art forum here. I am not being sarcastic; that forum is for art. Plenty of people post there. This is not the forum for sharing art, like it or not. The moderators don't seem to care, so, don't worry, it won't get moved.

Oh noes, TCL thread doesn't follow your rules.

Read the title of the thread. It belongs right here.

You err - they are not my rules . I did not make them nor can I enforce them. I don't understand the willingness to ignore rules. A few years ago the mods would have locked or moved this post.

There's a little triangle in the lower-left corner. It's there to make the mods aware of objectionable material. Why don't you use it instead of polluting this thread with your crying?

When was I "crying?" I pointed out there was an art forum and the post was off topic. The fact remains there is an art forum this manner of thread. The thread title even specifies "drawings."

Oh well, don't bother responding, I made my point. I am just trying to preserve the integrity of the forum.

lol you're obviously very touchy and invested in this thread. I understand.

And no. I don't have work to show you. and you asking for me to show you work doesn't prove anything. I drew as a child and studied it so I know what I'm talking about even though i'm not good at it. And i'm not good at it because I didn't care enough to be.

What about the title? It says realistic car drawing. YEAH. Once again I have to spell it out for you that making copies of "real life" is not CREATIVE it means you're a copy machine with a heartbeat.

You're the one who said it's creative in one of your posts, not me.

I can't believe people are accusing this artist of not being creative. I would say he is very creative. Simply altering something doesn't imbue it with creativity. I will say that flat6guy's objections are well-reasoned and stated, so he's not being a typical douchy troll. He's simply wrong in this case.

So, by some estimates this 1:12 scale replica of a 1956 Continental Mark II engine is not creative? He merely scaled down the original. Used drawings and measuring tools to make an exact model of the original. Nope, not creative at all.

Nor this model of an Avanti, that's made out of stock sheet and dimentional brass. It's made from pictures and drawings. Nothing existed before the raw material and the drawings. That's creating something, just like a pencil drawing.

Guys, please, have a and relax a bit.

The drawing is PLENTY creative and I can't wait to see the finished product. Its also a picture of a CAR so its CAR RELATED and besides, the art forum has so little foot traffic in it compared to the lounge.
