Great mod!!!! It really takes some of the slop out of the shifter. Very little added vibration added but this is more noticeable when the car is cold.

Feedback from a 2012 Beetle owner...looks like we have a new application to add to the list...

Had the HPA - HVW-904-75 (Red) Dog Bone Mount insert installed in my (Manual Shift)
2012 2.0 VW Turbo Beetle today. Since the OEM insert has a Durometer strength level of no more
than 60, I chose the HPA '75' ...the same category as the one recommended for the new Golf R. Once installed, it is immediately evident that the 'wheel hop' I was experiencing became much reduced. Adding an ECU 'Flash' to the Turbo Beetle should definitely be accompanied with HPA's 'mount' upgrade if you want better performance...to help reduce, over time, even more stress that a turbo powered Beetle will be subjected to.

After having bought the 75a months ago, I finally had it installed today. I have to say, shifting is much smoother without the engine jumping all around. My wife will be happy she doesn't get tossed around each time I shift. There is definitely more vibration in the cabin, but it's kind of cool in that it makes the car feel more raw. I expect that to decrease as the mount settles. Bottom line is smoothness in shifting/drivability is way up...

I totally agree, I just had mine installed last night and it really makes you feel like you are in a performance car rather than a Cadillac...in a good way! Makes the car feel tighter to me too. The only vibration I notice is during idle and start. Makes you aware you have a powerful motor under the hood! Thumbs up!...

Installed my 75a Red mount yesterday and OMG, what an amazing upgrade! It for sure vibrates down low and is a little harsher, but I quickly got used to it and it doesn't really bother me anymore.

Everything feels much more connected with the drive train, shifts feel more precise and more solid. I had a hard time getting it into 1st to 2nd when taking it up above 6K, not anymore, shifting feels much more effortless. Love it!

This also might a placebo effect, but I did some quick lane changes at speed (on a closed road with no other cars or traffic) and I swear to god, it feels like it reduces body roll and doesn't seem to throw the engine causing it to transfer weight in the wrong direction making the car feel unstable. Just feels more hunkered down.

I wish I would have done this upgrade to my GTI when I had it!

No Brainer upgrade!

Hope this helps some to decide which mount to get.
When I bought the 80 mount the 75 wasn't available yet.
I went from the 80 to the 75 mount due to vibrations and the difference is like night and day.
I would recommend the 75 for lightly modded daily driven cars. Very slight vibrations and still major difference from stock while shifting. More precise smoother shifting just like the 80 mount but with way less cabin vibrations.

Unlike the urethane inserts which merely reinforce the OEM rubber mount, this is a completely re-engineered one stop solution that will control the engine’s motion without the need to install aftermarket side mounts. The ride comfort is retained, but the shift response and chassis feel is vastly improved.

The mount we recommend for your car is the 90a "blue" variety...
