I gave my HPA Haldex controller a workout last weekend. Even the tightest and fastest corners are no drama. It makes me a bit afraid to find out where the limits are. Even when I drive aggressively - for me - the system makes me look good!

Is there a possibility to ever get a Gen 2 controller with the eco mode? I would like the ability to disable the rear end for highway driving. does haldex offer such a thing like the gen 4 controller but compatible with the gen 2 cars?

Id really like to upgrade the haldex controller, and if that is an option I would purchase one very soon. please let me know

No. But the Gen.2 controller does offer a stock mode, which would perform quite similarily.

Gen.2's are in stock and ready to ship!

The Haldex remote. For just $100.00 more than the price of a cable/switch, the remote allows for changing Haldex modes with ease, not to mention a much less complicated installation.

These remotes can be purchased separately, or as part of a Combo with the Gen.2 or Gen.4 controller.

IM or e-mail me for a quote including shipping to your destination.

Warranty on all of our Haldex offerings is 1 year. These units are manufactured/programmed by the same company that makes your OE controller. They are of equal reliability.

    Hi,
Anyone tried or have idea if there is way to turn on Haldex without HPA controller?
    Literature says:
"The pressure on the plates is determined by the regulating valve. The positioning motor, which is
driven by the Haldex coupling control unit, adjusts the regulating valve. If the regulating valve is closed, the maximum pressure acts on the clutch plates. The maximum pressure is determined by the pressure limiting valve."
I'm thinking to switch on regulating valve with manually switch relay or ESP switch off on the panel.

"Pressure build-up in pump for Haldex coupling (pre-pressure) is activated electrically when the engine speed exceeds 400 rpm." Means pump is working all the time, so there is no need to turn on additionally.

I think it is software based so it is technically possible but I doubt you will get the answer here because that is basically what HPA did and is trying to sell. They just decided to make it a replacement part but it should be possible just to "reflash" the existing controller if you knew how. It would be much nicer if someone offered a reflash with controls designed to use the existing blank buttons we have but I'm not in the business of designing car mods so...
If your gas cap light comes on even if you think you tightened the cap, try pulling on the cap as you tighten it. Worked for me.

Went with the wireless switchable controller and only take it out of race mode every so often on longer highway trips. Other than that, it stays in race mode all the time. Lost a couple MPGs in fuel economy in race mode, but nothing that bothers me all that much.

One of my concerns was winter driving, this is a non-issue for sure. The car still performs well in race mode in snow/ice, and switching off ESC just increases the fun factor if you have space to play around in.

Can't wait for spring to roll around to put in some track time in the R! Considering swapping to the competition only controller considering how rarely I take it out of race mode.

HPA is top notch to work with

Is it possible in my wildest imagination to control my Haldex via the 3 empty buttons next to the traction control button, preferably wirelessly? If not currently, can you make/develope it? I would pay more for that option...

Also is the Haldex gen 2 on an MkV R32 able to send more than 50% of power to the rear wheels for any instant, even a millisecond? Is it possible with the stock tune or just yours?

Those are all WAY better ideas than 115hp in a 3,300lb midsize sedan. Next thing you know we are going to see the new Passat with the 2.5L with 170hp.

That would be great, very clean install. E-mail me and I'll show you what some creative customers have done with their Haldex Switch mounting.

Never more than 50% to the rear wheels...under the best case scenario maybe 55 front/45 rear...

When I want it to straighten out it comes right back, even without getting out of the throttle. Anyways just thought I'd let you know
