2012 sowo- wheres everyone staying

We stayed at Helendorf 2 years ago (first time at SoWo) and thought it was pretty crazy and the rooms weren't really to our liking (smelled like it had been closed off a long time and was pretty dirty, plus parking was horrible). Last year we stayed at Country Inn and Suites and loved it. It was close, clean, and relatively quiet (seemed to have more adults or at least those acting like adults). We would have stayed this year, but I couldn't find rooms online (found out this morning they were blocked for the show which in previous years that wasn't the case), but the only rooms that would suite our needs are $119/night. I'll keep my current reservation at another hotel, but I plan to stay at the CIS next year.

Theres like 13 of us coming down from NH and MA with trucks, trailers, cars and everything else! Staying for the week and its gonna be a blast!

Has anybody ever camped out for sowo? I've been looking at campsites because I have a big three room tent. It would be alot cheaper then staying at a hotel. This is my first year that I have attend sowo. If so then what is a good campground to stay at any suggestions?

First year going to sowo this year!!! How crazy does it get in the city? would i be able to drive thru town and park in the show grounds or very near them in a safe place for my car? And how close is the ramada inn to the show grounds? Gotta get me and the wifes hotel reserved like yesterday. lol

The city is tiny, so ther really isn't a particularly crazy area, most of the craziness is in the hotel areas. You can if you choose, park friday night at the showgrounds to avoid the saturday traffic. A shuttle can take you to your hotel. Ramada is in relative walking (how much walking you can handle) distance from the showground.

i just booked 3 nights at america's best inn for only $50 a night. Any one have experience with this place? i can't find any info on it, but it is only .5 miles from the show.

i haven't heard anything about the place, but booking 14+ days in advance gets you 20% more off. so it was like 39$ a day!!

I just booked mine, checking in Friday and checking out Sunday and it was 90$ total with tax!!!

Edit: Never mind, I saw the special online, I think I'm gonna go with this one, plus its right on South Main Street.

Trying to figure out when to leave, either the 20th or 21st.....This is my first time going so is there anything to do Sunday after the show? or everyone just leaves?

sunday is the day where most people leave. there will be stragglers, but it's nothing compared to friday and saturday. i'm checking out the 20th and will stick around a little to go tubing and grab lunch.
