I'm going to venture a guess that there are more 2.5SE/L's on the road than GLI's.... why are you not catering to your larger audience?

Maybe so, but GLI's are quick right out of the box. Half the fun is making a slow car like the 2.5L, faster than it is.

is this Traction control function, independent of a ecu upgrade? Of not will it work with either APR or GIAC upgrades? Also what price range are we looking at? By the way good work listening to the market needs. Now if we can get LED tailights and projector headlights produced.

Would this maybe disable the traction control being completely off on GTI's also? Or is the flash disabling it similar to disabling "traction control" on the GTI?

Our intention is to turn this into a DIY manual, since we mostly used factory parts to activate the circuit. We're writing up the manual now.

We have not tested this on the TDI, simply because we had not seen the previous demand for it. Are you guys getting wheel spin where the factory traction control kicks in? When you flash the GLI, the traction control kicks in a lot at full throttle.

    Hey Todd,
I see you have no part numbers or prices for the gli. Is the gli down pipe identical to the '10 gti? Also when upgrading to the K04 turbo, it uses the same down pipe as well as mid pipe? Thank you in advance.

My manual tdi gets wheel spin pretty easy in first and will in second at times and the traction control kicks in every time. If my tdi was flashed i believe it would spin alot more.

Im more looking to turn it off at times in the winter where its preventing me from gaining momentum.

A DIY would be amazing thats perfect cant wait to see it

Just in time for the first snowfall. I got stuck trying to get into my driveway tonight. Wouldn't have happened if I had the ability to turn traction off. ") thanks AWE.

    Hi Todd,

what switch do you recommend for a gli with center console start button?

My start button is exactly where the ESP button should go!

Not too sure of what to order!

BTW Thumbs up to you guys at awe to put this info public. I think you will make alot of gli owner happy!

    Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

Todd, for those of us with the autobahn pkg and Nav, what part #'s do we need to order?

Thanks for the free help too!

Will this essentially work on a 2.5L SEL with Nav and push button start??!!
No way to tell since my display is archaic. Just an on/off light on the dash.

We have not had a chance to check all the variations of GLI out there.

This switch *may* work, but we are unsure if the internal circuitry is the same:

    VW part number: 5C6-927-118

We don't intend to sell these parts as a kit.

The DIY manual worked perfect for me. My car is a canadian GLI with Kessy and I decided to install the button beside the start button for now. I can now turn off my esp. Now I'm ready for snow!!!

    Thanks again!

I took the one of the diy and did some moddification to it. I grinded the locating sluts so it now can fit in any position and I bought another blank cap that I moddified also quite a bit and I fitted it on the button. If you are in my car it looks stock but one of the blank is now the button.

If you don't mind about the round corners you can also install the button with the removal of the locatong slut on the button housing!
