Have a solid 25 hours at least in the bumper. Need to support the backside of the break with some super epoxy and some sort of bracing. Also need to brace the lower part of the bumper since the middle grill is the main support for the lower part of the bumper. Thinking about building a skid plate that attaches to the subframe and the lower bumper itself. I'm hoping that will be enough, but I may do some sort of bracing behind the bumper. washer caps are shaved, filler plate is molded in, and one of the two grill inserts is molded in. Hopefully get the other one molded in tonight and pick up some epoxy to fill the backsides for extra support as well as add extra support along the break. Goona try to use only epoxy on all the outsides of the molded parts instead of a filler. Maybe a skim coat of filler if the epoxy doesn't sand smooth like I want it to. So far I'm very happy with the repair and work on the bumper. Very solid plastic welds and is still able to flex without seperating. Should be perfect with an epoxy bracing the backside. Now I just need to sand sand sand and finish this biotch

you are filling the line at the bottom of the center grill right?
if you cut most of the center grille and leave a little of the meat that goes vertical you can leave the bottom bumper support for bracing.
sorry for the ramble but if you look at it it will make more sense.

Havent posted in a while. Havent had much time or money for the car. I've been extremely busy trying to pay off all my 6 speed swap parts, but I should finally be picking everything up tomorrow. Next steps will be to pull everything off, powdercoat subframes, then swap my front aluminum subframe bushings, order rear subframe bushings and install, order apikol poly rear diff mount and install, swap over all my control arms and coilovers, all 4 wheel bearings and axles. Then I need to get this thing undercoated so ill have a rolling chassis again!

I know I kinda dropped off the face of the earth for the past month doing side work and busting ass trying to make money. I still need to sell my Jhm solid short throw, 01A trans, rear diff, etc. Pm me if ur interested. I ended up getting all my parts for 1200 instead of 2k because my buddy decided he wanted to keep the 01E for himself but he's including another 01E for me that has a busted 2nd gear shift collar. So ill be rebuilding that one before everything is said and done. But 1200 isn't bad considering everything I'm getting. Plus I wanted to rebuild the 01E anyway due to the power I plan on making.plus what's another 1200 for a rebuild kit haha
Parts I'm picking up today or tomorrow:
01E with bad 2nd gear shift collar
Driveshaft
Rear diff
Front and rear subframes
Front and rear axles
Complete oem suspension setup with control arms sway bars shocks springs etc
Hub assemblies
Brake Rotors calipers pads
Basically drop both subframes with everything attached. Also will be borrowing 4 or my brothers 14 b6 s4 avus' so that I will have wheels that clear the brakes to get this thing rolling again shortly. And yes my bro had 14 b6 s4 wheels lol let me know if anyone is interested in a set.

Spoke with blast tech today about removing the undercoating for me. He's not sure it will work 100% but ima pay him 1 hour to see what it will do before I continue. Really hope it works. Tired of wire wheel heat and scraping. I don't care how much it costs at this point I just need it done. Then ill re undercoat, powdercoat everything and get her rolling and ready for more body work and.engine and trans build.![]()

Still no major updates Busted ass last month to pay off my six speed swap. Still need to go pull all my parts. Been super busy. Finally got around to some garage cleaning and organizing kinda getting ready to move which I'm really not looking forward to at all during this project. Made room to pull in my buddies b5 s4 for new heads. was about to get the trailer to bring my shell to the blaster for undercoating removal and to blast door jams and bay, when boom haha blew up the transmission on my current daily driver. Awesome right, so new trans should be picked up today and need to get to work.side note, rear aluminum subframe bushings came in yesterday.

So no updates on my car yet, but making some money on the side helping with a mk4 1.8t swap into a vw caddy. He got the truck for a whole $400 with a 1.8t engine and trans out of a 2003 vw jetta. The truck was owned by a guy who ran a body shop and the car was painted 7 years ago when the engine was set into place. Since then, the truck has sat in a field untouched. There's under 30k miles on the 1.8t engine and trans. All in all its in pretty good shape but the paint down the bed of the drivers side is cracking and obvious body work underneath. The plan as of now is to pick up a complete car wiring harness from a jetta as well as ecu which will be getting a tune and bypass the immobilizer. Also need the shifter with box and all linkages. As far as axles go, we need to look into that more but I believe the 16v scirocco axles will do the trick. Planning a g60 rado radiator with the coolant cap to avoid running a tank. A/c is going to.be attempted to be kept as of now but well see how that goes. The hardest part of this project is going to be the dash. Were going to attempt a complete mk4 dash and center console swapwith climate control, gauge cluster, and everything in working order. Should be stopping by the junk yard to see what's available today. Here's a couple pics as of now.

That looks like a blast! I've always wanted a Caddy
![]()
#346
Me too! He's trying to trade for my help instead of cash. And... He has another caddy which he's willing to trade. But its my buddy and I helping, so that's a hard trade to split considering I would wanna keep it. He also has a dirt bike worth about 3400 he said he'd be willing to trade, so maybe well take that, sell it, and ill buy the other caddy.but I really don't need another project till mine is done. Now I'm kicking myself for not keeping my 1.8 if I do get the caddy.
