Negativity? I was just mentioning that the above gentleman was correct in saying she needed new strut bushings. You are the one blowing up here buddy. They are a 30 minutes job so when someone turbos and resprays a car while leaving blown ass bushings... Well we as enthusiasts will be commenting.

Take it to PM? Take what? We just mentioned your buddy needs her strut bearings replaced to which you got all aggressive over. So you're saying you'd rather me let you walk around with grease on your face rather than say "Hey you have grease on your face"?
Noted.

Ok to settle the masses it was a mad dash trying to get a lot done in a short time frame. The main concern was cosmetics on that go round...now a lot of the little things are getting taken care of, strut bearings/bushings, small oil leaks...she just put in 2 new fans and fan relay module not too long ago. Just keep in mind that her car had all that custom work and full respray in around a months time during off hours of work. A lot of people put in a lot of late nights to get it done so maybe they are a little defensive because they know how hard she worked and how stressful it got at times. Everyone knows no one meant any harm so let's get this back on track as her car continues to evolve and progress.
Warmest regards,

Whoa f***ing whoa people!!! It's a build thread! Hence I know the car is not perfect. I wouldn't have started this thread if I didn't think that people would voice their opinion about it. I am open for opinions and ideas cosmetically, but that won't necessarily change my mind on anything Obviously not everyone is going to like the way it looks and I don't care, it's MY car. Once I get the new wheels on the car and painted I'm sure there will be plenty of people that don't like it. Everyone has different tastes when it comes to cars and I respect whatever effort anyone makes, I might not like it but I respect the work done.
With that being said, when I comes to mechanical issues on my car I guarantee that I already know what it is, but I have no issue when someone points it out. I am actually shocked on how nice people have been on this thread so far. The initial comment that was made didn't phase me for a second, I didn't take it negatively and don't think he said it to be a dick. It was said to be said and point out the obvious. John, I appreciate you having my back but I think it was a huge misunderstanding. I'm a big girl, I can voice my own opinion.
Justin made a good point, I don't know if you actually look at the times of some of my posts but I was up at the shop until 5am some nights for 3 straight weeks busting my ass to get this car ready for Fixx. Even after all of that i'm still no where near where I what to be with it, but I understand that's what comes with having a badass car. I'm new to this scene, this is the first VW that I've ever owned, I've always been a hardcore DSM fan. Granted, I might not be considered a VW enthusiast but I am definitely a CAR enthusiast. This car is my personal take on what I like, granted it might not be the 'typical' VW thing to do, but regaurdless I like it and that's all that matters. I'm sorry about the long monotonous rant but I just want you guys to maybe kind of understand what goes on in my head. Now stop arguing!

Well, it's nice that comments are welcome, I'd hate to see well intended community comments on a build thread reduced to PM.

Ok so she started tearing down the car to recieve the new turbo (turbonetics dual ballbearing) and fix some issues. Ordering everything to change over to the mk5 oilpan today and just got her new Mishimoto radiator, low temp fan switch and 70 degree thermostat in yesterday the car was having some issues with running hot so this should do the trick. Also the new strut bearings will be going in....once that's done it will be heading back to the paint shop for another round of changes!

Ok, so i'm finally back to the blue bomber...this time more mechanical but still a little more cosmetic too. It started as a simple oil change and turned into a turbo swap, new mishimoto, low temp switch and thermo, strut mounts and bearings, 550 injectors, head spacer, another tune from um, front lip, glass headlight housing, hood extension, and wheels. Some oil change...i'll hopefully post pics tomorrow!![]()

Ok, here we go...First, turbo! Going from to4e to GTK500
I need to get a new downpipe, the TO is v-band and the GTK is a 4 bolt flange

Now to the radiatorI had to do a little fabricating to get the fan shroud to fit, just cut a little notch out of the side

Also, you can't use the oem bolts. Just got some M6-1.0x12mm bolts from the parts store. Another issue that I ran into was that the stock radiator fittings off of the hoses are a little too big for the Mishimoto
After some research I found out that you need to actually double o ring the fittings. I just bought a huge set of o rings from Harbor Freight. 213 seemed to work the best.
Now the fittings are super snug.
so that's about it for today, i'm going to be taking my new wheels apart tomorrow and changing out strut bushings/bearings. Oh, and ECU went out to UM today. Only $150 for a new flash to run 550s.

When I took my short runner off yesterday I saw a little blow by so I figured it's better to be safe and run an oil catch canquick tap into the valve cover and problem fixed.

This thread has a deceptive title. "Just a taste" is usually what I leave on my bunghole for that lucky lady who goes to town on it.I really was expecting different content.
"Being in space was great, I had plenty of time to rub one out, which in space is great, but after a while it's like living in a snow globe" -Peter Griffin
"You could whore yourself out to 1,000 fat chicks for $50 apiece. Or 50 really fat chicks for $1,000. What? Don't look at me like that. Fat chicks need love too. But, they got to pay." -Glenn Quagmire
