For a 1" to 1.5" drop go with the H&R sport springs. The stock shocks will last a pretty good time with those springs and IMO the passat looks way better with a moderate drop than slammed. Keep it up, car looks great!![]()

Thanks for your comments, lowering my VR6 is the next mod on my list. Still debating between Sport Springs VS Coilovers. I want to lower it just 1" to 1.5". After lowering it, next mod will be H&R front & rear swaybars and perhaps a big brake kit.
Any tire is better compared with the Hankooks that came originally with the Passat. There are plenty of options available in the market. I choose the V12 since they are a very good tire for the money, but all depends how much $$$ you would like to spend.
Slight difference on the H7 VS OEM, more noticeable on the high beams.

Is it possible to remove the chrome trim on the doors and bumper of the sel or is it integrated in?

I love the car! I'll post a separate thread about my old and new car. The only problem is a small consisten noise I hear like wind swishing through the passenger mirror only with speeds >65mph. weird.
I actually live in Fresno. I took the train + bus to Pasadena to pick it up. LOL! But I'm in so cal often.

Just thought I'd share a couple snow pictures from Minnesota. The pictures aren't great, but the car seems to handle the first snow pretty well. Overall we are loving the Passat. I traded in my 10 year old Honda Odyssey minivan and this car has been an awesome change.
No problem loading a couple hockey bags in the trunk, although I wish the SE had the trunk pass-thru so I could get the hockey sticks in the trunk.
The anti-slip handled the snow very well. And I tried briefly putting it into sport mode and found that you could more easily force the wheels to slip when you want to. The only bummer part now is that it will be 5 more months of snow and sand and stuff before the roads will be safe enough to take highway exit ramps or other corners at fun speeds. I love the way this thing handles corners

Nice car everyone! Seems like the most popular color here so far is the black one. You guys are brave! I'm too lazy to try to keep it clean.![]()

S with Appearance.
Really like the car, even in its more basic configuration.
I can't wait to dig into a little more.

In mexico dynamic (alcantara) comes on the lower trims; this is the equivalent of the SE with sunroof which has leatherette in the US. Dynamica looks cool with the aluminum trim! I wonder what it looks like with the carbon trim from canada?! they also get the euro switch in canada and mexico![]()
