Hinge cover came from VW, (I got it before you could order the part, as a favor, but you can order the left wire harness cover part and it installs on the right)

Mirrors came from OEMplus, (waited three months for them, as each order is a custom allocation from germany, well worth the wait though)

Shift knob came from Taobaoenglish.com (a chinese site, and I just swapped the leather side pieces with the wood side pieces by popping the DSG cover off)

    It's a 12 Carrera S Cabriolet 6-Speed manual, soon to be traded for a 12.5 Carrera S Coupe 7-Speed manual

Gota include the pops once in a while (even if I am jealous)

I use "Photobucket" to post on forums. I'm sure there are other methods.

No, when you install the glass, the same connector hooks up that heats the mirrors, and I can confirm they work with the heating function.

Thanks for the reply!! How about auto-dimming feature? Did you get it at ECS? A set maybe? And is there any instruction about how to replace them? I am very interested in this mod because of the blind spots.

Got them from OEMplus, took months, but was worth the wait. They came as a set, and at the time they were not available anywhere else so they were $200 and that was that.

To install, you position the mirrors all the way in toward the car, and ever so gently slide your hand behind and dismantle them from their clips. Then detach the heating cable, and reverse.

When installing be very patient, and don't force. I broke my original passenger mirror by trying to get it off (passenger side is more difficult). It will just shatter just like that. Then the new passenger mirror was not fully installed and almost fell off! But once it clicks into place (gently) it is good, and I have had no problems or blind spots at all.

It is a fairly annoying process since glass is so fragile, but once it is done, it is so worth it. Not to mention no more will the passat be able to get them. 2012.5 models and up have jetta mirrors exclusive to the US which are not made for aspherical glass.

Auto dimming is not available on these cars, and is therefore not wired. The auto dim aspherical mirrors are like $800 as well, so there is a drastic price hike. Considering they do not do anything, and I ran the risk of different connectors, I stuck with the original ones.

I must say though, there is no glare because the headlights are refracted around the bend of the glass, and therefore it is like poor-mans auto dimming

Thank you so much! I did find a video link regarding how to change the mirror for Audi A4, but was wondering if it is the same in Passat. From your reply, I guess they are the same.
I am attempting to get a pair from ECS Tuning, but was hesitated because I didn't know how to. You solved my problem!!

Well after lurking around for a while I figured it was time to post up a pic of my tdi se black on tan. I just got it tinted yesterday and replaced the headlights with the ziza lights from ECS. This has been one of the best cars I have owned.

Not the best picture but it will work for now

hi phat7deuce, the wheels are looking extremely good. I am looking for these as well but not sure if they will cause any adverse effect? AFAIK, the offset for these is 41 and the stock wheels that I'll have no my car are with offset 48. Any issues with this difference?

Does VW dishonour warranties if I go ahead with these wheels. I've purchased an additional warranty and wondering if you know the answer?

So far, so good...I had some replica versions of these wheels on there for a couple of weeks with a 45 offset and these look better and ride better. A little more expensive, but I think worth it for the OEM wheels. No issues to report...

Not sure on the warranty, but I can't see why wheels would alter that...

    Understood, thanks for clarifying.

Do you have to do any modifications (spacers use etc) with the lower offset to install these?

Nope...no spacers needed. I think the lower offset actually pushes the wheel out more, so none would be needed. (I'm not a pro when it comes to wheels, but that's what I understand.)

I had no intention of lowering, so I kept the overall wheel diameter as my stock 17's, by getting 235/45's.

    okay thanks.

I'll do some research online and see if I can have these wheels for my car. BY the way, mine comes with 18'' stocks.

I´m thinking of changing wheels on my Passat 2012.Do you think the RS5 replica (20") would look nice on my white Passat?
Maybe someone would like to help me and photoshop my car with these wheels??
