I've got two two-week escourted trips on the table at the moment for next summer:
    1. Route of the Maya, which goes through El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala and ends in Belize for a few days.
    2. Baltic Capitals & St. Petersburg, going through Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia before reaching St. Petersburg.

    Thoughts?

I say Baltic, mostly because I really enjoyed Moscow and wish I swung by St. Pete when I was there.

    northern hemisphere summer? the Baltics.

La Ruta Maya is great, but in the summer the Yucatan area is sweltering.

Was TDY to Lithuania (Siauliai) very nice small town. Vilnius was also nice for the brief stay. Kaunus was fun hung out with the Lithuanian Army and drank way to much Vodka. Your money will go a long way too in Lithuania. I will say, a lot of country in between everything. No running water in a lot of spots. Latvia has some things going for it too. Only spent a few hours in Riga which was a real good time. The women in Latvia are unrivaled as far as beauty. I mean nothing like I have ever seen before and I've been to 50 or so and counting countries. As far as St. Petersburg I was never lucky enough to make it, the USAF was a little skeptical about letting their Airmen take a trip to Mother Russia.

Where else have you gone? Have you already been to Machu Pichu and the Amazons?

Ive been to nearly 50 countries, I would have to say Edinburgh Scotland is way high on my favorite spots. I would love to do New Zealand or Antarctica one day. A secret spot that not many ever heard about Slovenia. Awesome time.
I think you will like the Baltics.

When did you go to Moscow?

Tell a fellow Moscovite how you liked it and what you liked?

    Thread resurrection

After much time wasted, I decided on an Adriatic coastal tour, from Dubrovnik to Ljubljana, in late June.

I guess you heard my secret. You are going to have a great time. The Slovenia People are very gracious and friendly. Do yourself a favor and pick up a few key phrases. It goes a long way.
