OH, quoting me out of context.![]()
S2000's were not 40K either, MSRP of $32K when they first sold.
Anyway, you took my quote out of context and it means nothing. I was answering why perhaps more hate is geared towards the BRZ vs the S2000.
Congratulations, maybe you have a future in politics.

The test of the machine is the satisfaction it gives you. There isn't any other test. If the machine produces tranquility it's right. If it disturbs you it's wrong until either the machine or your mind is changed.

I agree with this. In my case, I'm dealing with 2 car seats all at once.
The R32 will be okay once they're front facing, but a 4 door was necessary. I had so much equity in the S2000 it just didn't make sense to keep it and not put that value towards another car.
Like I said, someday I'll own another one. For now, I'm glad I got to own one of my realistic dream cars.![]()

1. Acquire S2000
2. Find a nice mountain road (Angeles Crest Highway, in my case) and a buddy with a cool car.
3. Enjoy life
4. Take crappy pictures with your Blackberry

Chatted with my coworker today. I did some maths and with a raise coming this November I'm in a good position. His 2003 still has fewer than 15k miles on it and putting him on the spot for a ballpark on what he wants to get out of it revealed "15 or 16 thousand." I think I can make a case for $15k and some change. Car's in very good shape, with only minor cosmetic "issues," such as paint flaws and leather wear.
Since I don't have access to s2ki here at work...sound decent?

what color? any accident history?
silver is a very common color and they tend to go for a few hundred less...though full red interior on a silver one changes that. crashes hurt these things too, there are few minor crashes in one of these cars. otherwise, sounds like a very good deal. only thing to watch for on an 03 is a torn/bad top. they resolved the banjo bolt, crappy plastic rear window, even worse stereo, and several other issues by 02...
and i already was whoring these in the other thread, but here is a few more...

I test drove one last week . 02 with 155k miles for $11.5k, turned out to be a dog, ruff ruff shape inside/out. I'm glad I took it to a Honda dealer for a full inspection. Was still good to get in one and finally drive it. Also drove an 01 this weekend, asked someone at the autox if I could flog it for a minute or two so I know how a proper running motor should feel. I gotta say they feel slow compared to my Forester, slower than what I expected but that's to be expected with a turbo vs NA 4 banger. Handling on the other hand is great, I've got tons of $$ put into suspension on the Subie and these things stock handle great which is why I want one. Patience of course is key, I'll find one eventually in the right condition for the right price.

Honestly as long as it's not abused, it's stock and it's garaged I'm okay with it. Silver on black may be standard fare but I won't care too much while I'm driving it. The current owner is middle-aged, no kids, and doesn't wring it out at all. Mechanically, it's pampered. The paint's pretty blah, but as far as I can tell there's nothing wrong with the body (dings, etc) so I can probably fix the paint myself.
I intend to set up some time to give it a good test-drive in the near future.

A few pictures of the new wheels
Please excuse the last minute "hipster" center caps... lost one of the originals so these will be temporary

The Invidia sounds pretty fantastic, but also sounds awfully loud. Is the drone on that one really bad?

You need an S2000
Picked this up last weekend. 2002, 157K km. Invidia catback exhaust, otherwise stock. Going to put a massive front sway bar on it and run it in B-Stock autocross with some R-Comps.
