In the front the S1 coilover for the MK2, MK3 VW/Audi Group platform features 400 lb/inch
spring rate matched to a twin tube low pressure gas damper mounted in a
heavy gold zinc plated threaded coilover housing that provides not only

The rear features a 285 lb/inch coil spring & helper spring matched with a
specially tuned sport damper mounted inside the rear version of the

The springrates are very close to the KW & HR rates for VR6 based vehicles, and the comfort is very good.

Unfortunately Solo Werks does not have this application in stock yet.

They anticipate it will be ready by late spring. As soon as it is ready, we will be posting up.

Currently the only sub $1000 kit we have for the TT Q is the ST kits.

That is a tricky question and depends on your personal point of view.

Many would say that you should go with the lower priced units and use the difference on another mod, while others would say you should get the more expensive units as they have a longer warranty.

Here is a breakdown of all the options we currently offer - with a bit of personal experience thrown in past the marketing speak

FK Streetlines -
- Height adjustable, with preset shock dampening
- Regular steel construction with silver Zinc coating/galvanizing
- Aluminum spring perches
- 2 Year warranty provided by FK Germany

The Streetlines are an entry level coilover kit designed as a OEM Sport type ride quality with height adjustability. Great option for a budget conscious upgrade. Can go lower than most other options, and at full lowering they provide a decent ride comfort (maxed out on the threads front and rear)

Solo Werks
- Height adjustable, with preset shock dampening
- Regular steel construction with heavy Gold Zinc coating/galvanizing
- Aluminum spring perches
- 3 Year warranty provided by Solo Werks USA

Like the FK Streetlines the Solo's are an entry level kit designed as an OEM Sport ride quality with the added benefit of height adjustability, and are great for a first coilover / factory replacement kit. They have the same lowering range as the FK's as well, but with the extra year warranty and USA based tech support and warranty they come out ahead on our scale.

We feel the Solo Werks are the best kit for under $500 USD.

ST's -
- Height adjustable, with preset shock dampening
- Regular steel construction with heavy Gold Zinc Coating
- Composite spring perches.
- Five year Warranty provided by KW/ST North America in California

The ST's are produced by KW as their entry level brand (think VW=ST to Audi=KW), and use the same tuning, shock absorbers and springs, but have a heavy gold zinc plating for corrosion resistance and a five year warranty.


We feel that the ST's are the best coilover that is on the market right now for under $1000.

KW's

Height Adjustable
- 3 Options for Shock dampening configuration
- Variant 1 - preset dampening as determined by their tuning engineers on their 7 post chassis dyno (click here for more info)
- Variant 2 - low speed rebound adjustable
- Variant 3 - independent low speed rebound and compression adjustable
- Stainless Steel Body Construction
- Composite Spring Perches
- Lifetime Warranty provided by KW/ST USA in California

The KW kits are the top of the line units on the market, with dampening options to fit almost every need. KW is the only company on the market that their primary function is Coilover systems (ie they do not offer exhausts, or wheels, or grills). They are the also the only company that has their own in house 7 post chassis dyno to properly setup a vehicle from not only their engineers personal preference, but from a vehicle harmonic/dynamic perspective.
