    True story.

Also get euro rounds from a mkii with city lights already built in. It doesn't get any simpler than that. that junk bolts in no mods required minus Changing the wires from the turns. Also you should let me get those fuch'ing ugly wheels from you when you get it.

Yeah i was wondering if the lights like i have in my caddy w/ city light hooked up as turn would fit.

Fuch you man them are keepers. Might get them high polished down the road.

Might trade for something most bad ass then they BUT not likely

    time is moving so slow

Wife & I are like little kids waiting for Christmas morning to come.

    QUESTION for you all.
I notice the 73 THINGS have air vents for the engine & the 74s have then big ugly boxes on the side for the engine.

Can i mod my 74 to work so i can have the vents of the 73 ? I am a metal fab guy so looks i can handle. I was wondering about the mechanics of the engine with them

R U F N kidding me ? SO i just got an e mail from the guy with the thing & his buddies Grandfather just passed away & now he can't deliver the THING. Said something like maybe god will maybe the weekend of JAN 14th a whole month longer.

I understand things happen & i'm sorry it did.

NOW i'm having 2nd thoughts about trading. in no way do i want to wait yet another month to get this leaving me even less time to get it ready for inspection / get it on the road for WbtB ( that we still don't have a date for )

It's just funny 3 days ago he was having some problems with the engine & now this.

Wife & I are mega bummed out & not happy

Just talked to him on the phone. He & his wife whom is going to be the owner of the Mustang STILL WANT TO TRADE. the only part that fell through is the transporting before the Holidays. His buddy said after the Holidays he would still be up for delivering it. we will see about that.

I said i'll give it 30 more days & if we can't get the trade done then we might as well give up.

It's just sucks cause nothing worth trading for is ever on the east side of the country.

    TO BE CONTINUED

Hell, most mini vans can pull these things. Tow DOLLY the stang down drop it off at a uhaul and tow BAR the Thing back home. Our little ole Tiguan can handle that even...it's food for thought. It doesn't have to be a truck...

get a standard tow dolly for a bug and tow it home. i towed my bug all the way from Washington to LA with a simple bug tow dolly. things only way about 1800 pounds. any car can tow one if you have the receiver

you can get one for as little a 40 buck of Craigslist

I should note that I just went out and tried the one I have in the corner I picked up at a swap meet this year. 2 things, my car is way way to low to get it under, by like 4 inches and my beam is way way to narrow for it to fit....bummer. That leaves a few options but not many. If the beam isn't narrow and adjustable it's an easy fix....adjust the front up real fast for the trip...super easy....I guess that would be the only option haha.

adjust the front up for the road trip yes. thats what i did.

I also narrowed my tow dolly to fit the beam. if you dont have assess to a welder take it to some one and tell them to narrow the inside dimension of the up rights by how ever much you need to clear the beam. took me 30 minutes to do mine.

bad part is you need a stock one then for the Thing then also. A narrowed one might work but i maybe to sloppy??

For me, I'll have to cut, bend and reweld from the looks of it. Not terrible.

What beam is on the Thing?????

I found this on thesamba. Look familiar hahaha. Narrow your towbar the 4" to fit you beam and it looks like it will work on the thing. I wouldn't worry about the 1" difference really. Looks like you will be good.

I am also using the KYB at all corners, but this will soon change to airride.

Don't think it's going to be there this year. BUT that don't mean much since he will be bringing a very trophy worthy AC.

Like all these shows i go just to hang, enjoy others & their cars.
Everything i in 1 place is a WIN for me.

I hope MWVF either changes the date BACK or has a much better show out cause i really want to hit that up with both cars.

Isn't the purpose of a show to be that as such verses a get together? My complaint is that the judging is biased which defeats the purpose of a show. I know I won't fair well at a show like that due the so called criteria used for judging. Don't get me wrong. I go to pretty much every show within 200 miles of me. You just can't help but notice how the show is handled. I don't go to win it's fun to just see what's new but biased judging and loosing to a car obviously of lesser(not saying his, other classes) upsets a lot of people. It's kinda like Treffen 2008 if you ever read about that haha. Fanboi is key to this discussion haha.

Popularity contest ( i loose that sh1t all the time ) i'm in no way a kiss up. I love haters cause they just fuel the fire & push me harder to do better then they.

There is a huge " click " here in the Ville one that i'm not even close to.

Yep, so you know what I mean without going into further details. I still enjoy the show though haha. With that being said I placed 2nd the first year with the A4 but last year I didn't do well with the Pwagon(didn't expect to with that car btw haha) This year I suspect I will be the same as last

MWVF was only down 20 cars this year btw. It was a slow start because groups from out of the area showed up a little later. Maybe they didn't realize the time change haha. I too hope they move the date back to something similar as to what it was. Most of the shows minus WBTB were at the end of the season so we crammed them all in at the end of August through the middle of October. Hopefully it will be a better spread this year. I will be going down to the Sevier show in TN the first week of May. Going to trailer the car down. Just can't do 7-8 hours in the Beetle haha. http://www.avwa.com/

If you can make it you should. We are renting a cabin out in the woods. I expect to drink enough for at least 3 people that weekend

I very well might be down for that show in TN. You got an extra spot in that cabin ? I would have to drive the THING. i'm down for an AC road trip.

PM me with details on that.
