      I'm back , just couldn't stay away from mk1s.

      84 Rabbit
      84 GTI
      82 Caddy

      and now an 82 Jetta.

      Diamond Silver
      Blue Interior
      530k On The Clock
      Full Service History 100k Forward
      All Original Paperwork
      In Fantastic Shape
      Zero Rust

no super serious plans, go over all the little things, get all the bushings and suspension bits upgraded, some coils and some 13s, polish up the paint, replace the vinyl thats not cracked and peeling, maybe a few euro bits.. already has a euro front bumper.

thanks, the rest of the interior is that clean as well.

carpet is mint, dash is mint, door cards are perfect.

only thing thats not perfect is the small covers above the doorcards, that piece of vinyl/plastic has a few cracks.. im debating taking them out as its just painted door underneath.

got the interior all cleaned up and re-installed. camera flash doesnt help show how pristine the interior it is.

also fixed the notorious steering column lower bearing issue, just put the bearing back in place and used a hose clamp

the previous owner had given me a full replacement column and wheel that i dont need with the purchase.

decided to take a few pics of the exterior before i start stripping it for paint, and taking the tint off.

all the trim looks to be in good shape, just ordered new clips for all of it..

looking for some bumpers and euro headlights to put on here after paint.

decided the cracked vinyl upper covers would irritate me as the rest of the interior is super clean.

so i started to remove them

the glue underneath is a pain to get off, but well worth it.

Glad somebody local picked this up i test drove it and it was solid but just didnt find the funds. I might follow your lead on those upper trim pieces.

decided to troubleshoot the blower motor as it wasn't working when i purchased the car.

fuse #10 was blown (fresh air fan), and i didn't have these old style fuses so i had to go buy some.. upon replacement i turn the fan knob and i hear creaking noises...

take the rain tray cover off to find the cage looks semi melted, i hope the motor isn't toast as i don't want to bother tearing it out (any input?)

      ---

decided to take a few pics to show how clean this car is... no rust

all my other mk1s had strut tower cancer

wonder how old this filter is??, going to change it just to ease my mind.

also found out that the car came with a lower tie bar.

      Good luck, WWR.
got the motor out, im just wondering if its more of a resistor issue.. as the cage was melted in the area of the resistor...

im not an electrical expert so i wouldn't have the first idea on how to test that theory.. other than hot-wiring the motor itself to see if its seized or not.

they didn't like that when you have the brakes applied that the left blinkers don't work, but the rights do..

any electrical gurus have input on that?
