Planned on tracking down all the squeaks and rattles an fix them. But I got side tracked.

Uinta organic pale wyld. Oh so delicious.

Six pack later and ive fixed the dash rattles and replaced the wipers with a set of bosch icons.

Got all the vinyl off one side as well

found this on ebay for $10 shipped, figured i could find a place for it.

looks like i can re-locate the ash tray to the lower pocket and put this in the center vent\ash tray area of the dash. would need to find an ashtray assembly from an a/c car though.

not going in the center console, as all my gauges still work

    got another package today.

looks NOS, wires look new and not a spec of dirt anywhere. i would assume this is new never installed.

now to figure out where to re-locate the license plate.

wow just looked again at your blue interior

so clean so blue so much awesome

love the underdash parcel trays everytime i see them now
so much space wasted under the dash on my tan interior 81...

jettas are hugely inconspicuous too compared to my rabbits
they just look like ordinary 80's sedans
i probally see several and never really notice them

    great buy and project
    have fun!

Car is looking pitiful in its current state. No bumpers, badges, flares, trim, and the vinyl is being removed.

    Things will be changing soon

I do need to figure out how to remove this black spray paint the PO decided looked good.

The blende isn't big enough to cover it all do it has to go.

After "educating" myself on why not to paint trim on the car, i can say a clay bar works very good for pulling spray paint off of a previously painted and cleared surface. I cant say its very time friendly either. mineral spirits perhaps or would that take ALL the paint off? Cant wait to see this done

Same thing happened to my blower motor but when you turned mine on smoke came from where the radio is supposed to be, i just drilled a tiny hole in the center of the fan sprayed some WD-40 in there and spinned it for 15 mins and it worked perfect! besides the smell of WD-40 for the first time turning it on My cover was also melted.

Youll be waiting a while for those, he's currently mid-move.
How does a rotary work? This one's easy: the magic triangle spins in the peanut and then apex seals come out.

Many reasons including clearance, the helpers only act as a spacer once weight is on them. by removing them you can have more wheel/tire to strut clearance.
